Alen Amedovski flipped the narrative on Saturday, taking the focus off a hot SBG Ireland prospect and putting it squarely on his powerful right hand at Bellator 203.
Another SBG Ireland prospect was making their debut in Bellator MMA on Saturday. This time, it was Will Fluery, an undefeated member of John Kavanagh’s top Irish team. He stepped into the cage at 4-0, facing Alen Amedovski at Bellator 203, airing on the Paramount Network Saturday in North America. The card unfolded in Rome, Italy, earlier in the day.
Amedovski, like Fluery, was undefeated as a pro, winning five straight since his debut in 2013.
Fluery had the fight to the ground early in this battle, controlling the legs of Amedovski to prevent any possibility of escape. Stacking his opponent up against the fence, Fluery looked to unload some ground n’ pound. Instead, Amedovski did manage to escape — and didn’t give Fluery a chance to get him down again. Instead, he dropped the Irish prospect with an overhand right that looked like he was swinging for the fences. He connected with a second right while Fluery was in free-fall, and followed up with a massive ground strike from the top, putting out the lights for Fluery!
Alen Amedovski def. Will Fluery by knockout, Round 1, 1:39
