A busy weekend in MMA, with events from the UFC, ONE Championship, and Bellator, was in full swing when Bellator 202 went down Friday night, with Julia Budd meeting a tough Jiu-jitsu world champion in the main event.
Bellator MMA kicked off back-to-back events over the weekend with Bellator 202: Budd vs. Nogueira in Thackerville, Oklahoma on Friday. In the main event, women’s featherweight champ Julia Budd put her 145lb title on the line, taking on jiu-jitsu champion Talita Nogueira. Also on the card, bantamweight standout Michael McDonald took on former champion Eduardo Dantas.
Earlier in the night, Gerald Harris continued his comeback, after losing his Bellator MMA debut on short notice against Rafael Lovato Jr. Steve Kozola and Emily Ducote also appeared on what looked to be a promising preliminary card.
