In an announcement made during The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale on Friday, the UFC has unveiled plans to return to Toronto, Canada in December with UFC 231.
The UFC will head to the Great White North one last time in 2018. In addition to dates in Calgary and Moncton, the promotion announced Friday that it will head to Toronto for UFC 231. The PPV card will be held at the Scotiabank Arena, formerly known as the Air Canada Centre.

The UFC last hosted an event in Toronto in 2016, when UFC 206 was held at the then-Air Canada Centre. A card ravaged by injuries and withdrawals, UFC 206 was to have been headlined by Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson meeting for the second time. That fight was later held down the road in Buffalo at UFC 210, however. Instead, Max Holloway met Anthony Pettis, winning interim featherweight gold. Donald Cerrone faced Matt Brown, and Cub Swanson vs. Doo-Ho Choi turned into an epic that won Fight of the Year.
Whether the UFC can recreate that in-cage success remains to be seen. The event under-performed on PPV, but was rebroadcast on FOX to impressive ratings several weeks later.
UFC 208 will take place December 8, 2018.
