Lilo and Stich meet an Amazonian Warrior Princess? The Bellator 201 weigh-in certainly had some flair!
On Thursday at the Bellator 201 weigh-in in Temecula, California, fans and media on hand were treated to a fun contrast in styles when main event fighters Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Alejandra Lara hit the scales. Macfarlane and co. came ready for fun, breaking out a Lilo and Stitch (yes, the Disney characters) theme. Not too shabby at all.
Lara, for her part, came ready with war paint and an Amazonian Warrior Princess outfit fashioned like it was straight out of a Wonder Woman origin story. Which made for quite the sight, and a nice change from the usual doldrums of weigh-ins.
Over the years, fighters have been known for some colorful weigh-in moments. Rin Nakai in Japan stands out on the women’s side. Roxanne Modafferi does as well. ‘The Happy Warrior’ has donned all sorts of costumes over the years, from Power Rangers to Mortal Kombat characters. So where do Macfarlane and Lara rank?
