The quirky Rin Nakai will look to make it five straight wins when she faces Shizuka Sugiyama at RIZIN 11 in July.
On Wednesday, RIZIN FF announced the addition of the ‘Queen of Pancrase,’ Rin Nakai, to their RIZIN 11 card in Saitama, Japan next month. Nakai (20-2), known for some rather quirky online video shoots over the years, as well as her UFC debut against Miesha Tate, will face Shizuka Sugiyama at the event.
Nakai has won all four of her bouts since her 0-2 stint in the UFC, where she lost decisions to Tate and Leslie Smith. Most recently, Nakai picked up TKO victory over South Korea’s Young Ji Kim under the DEEP banner. That marked her first bout since a fight in RIZIN in 2016. Still, the 4-0 run puts Nakai in a strong position, and helps take the edge off the only two losses of her career.
Sugiyama (16-5) has split her past two fights, picking up a win over Sachiko Fujimori in Deep Jewels earlier this month after losing to Kana Watanabe last December.
RIZIN 11 takes place July 29 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan (just outside Tokyo). The current card is as follows:
