After nearly four years away, and struggling with injuries, Claudio Silva returned to the UFC on Sunday at UFC Liverpool, and got the result he was looking for.
UFC Liverpool took place Sunday, live from Echo Arena in Liverpool England, in case the name didn’t give it away. The Second fight of main card saw Jiu-jitsu ace Cláudio Silva and UFC veteran Nordine Taleb face off in a scheduled three round affair.
Nordine took center and Silva came out quick, firing punches. Silva came forward with a body kick, and Taleb fired back with low kick. Taleb called on Silva to attack, and the Brazilian accepted, throwing a kick that was caught by Taleb. He tossed Silva to the ground; back on the feet Taleb landed a fierce high kick. The two exchanged, and Silva went for the take down.

Taleb looked to get back to his feet, but Silva stayed on him keeping him grounded. The two worked for position with Silva getting full mount. From there he threw punches down on the Canadian. Taleb gave up his back, and Silva got the body lock. He went for the rear-naked choke: it wasn’t locked in initially, but the Silva powered through and forced the tap from Taleb.
