Jake Shields headlines, and Rick Story makes his promotional debut at PFL 3 this July in Washington.
On Monday, the Professional Fighters league announced the full card for its third event of 2018, which will take place July 25 in Washington, D.C. In a press release, the promotion confirmed that Jake Shields, former Strikeforce champion and UFC title challenger, would meet Ray Cooper III atop the card. The event will go down at the Charles E. Smith Center, and air live on NBC Sports Network. The first three hours of coverage will also be available via Facebook.
Also making an appearance, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, cousin of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. At 14-1, Abubakar has started to build momentum, not unlike his more famous cousin. He’ll enter PFL 3 on a six fight win streak including victories over Matt Secor and John Howard. Nurmagomedov will feature in the co-main event of the evening, taking on Pavlo Kush.
Making his PFL debut on the night will be former UFC fighter Rick Story, who will face Yuri Villefort.
