‘The Carpenter’ will go to work against Bobby Green at UFC 225 in June.
UFC 225 gets better and better. The promotion’s return to Chicago, IL, this time on PPV, already boasts a solid card. Now, fan favorite Clay Guida is in the mix, as he’ll be taking on Bobby Green at the event. FanSided was first to catch wind of the addition. Guida vs. Green joins a middleweight main event, plus names like Overeem, Dos Anjos, Holly Holm, and former WWE star CM Punk.
Clay Guida (34–17) will head into the bout on a two fight win streak. Last time out, he dispatched Joe Lauzon in just over a minute at UFC Fight Night 120. On the shelf since that night in November, ‘The Carpenter’ will get back to work against Bobby Green, who like Guida is undefeated in his past two.
For Green (24-8-1), a draw against Lando Vannata at UFC 216 was followed up by a unanimous decision win over Erik Koch earlier this year. That marks a stark turnaround from 2014-2016 for Bobby Green, during which time he struggled with injury and amassed a record of 0-3. The former Strikeforce vet will look to continue to rebuild against Guida in Chicago in what promises to be an action-packed lightweight scrap.
UFC 225 takes place June 9 at the United Center in Chicago, IL. A middleweight title fight between Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero tops the card.
