A bantamweight battle between France’s Tom Duquesnoy and American Terrion Ware is set for UFC London next month.
The UFC announced on Monday that French prospect Tom Duquesnoy, a.k.a. ‘The Fire Kid’ would meet Terrion Ware at UFC London. The pairing was made official on the promotion’s European Twitter account. Duquesnoy and Ware join the card — numerically UFC Fight Night 127 — as it looks to find an identity, without anticipated headliner Michael Bisping. Instead, British UFC faithful get a heavyweight main event featuring Brazilian ex-champ Fabricio Werdum and Russian Alexander Volkov.
Duquesnoy (15–1 (1)) came into the UFC on a full head of steam, and won his debut last April against Patrick Williams with a TKO set up by a punishing elbow. However, the hype train was at least temporarily derailed when he ran into Cody Stamann at UFC 216 in October. There, Duquesnoy suffered his first career defeat in a split decision loss. He’ll look to bounce back against Ware, who has had his own struggles of late.
A veteran of both BAMMA and RFA, Terrion Ware (17-7) has lost both his UFC bouts to date. So there’s no question his back will be against the wall at UFC London. Like Tom Duquesnoy, Ware has suffered defeat at the hands of Cody Stamann, at UFC 213. He then dropped another decision to newcomer Sean O’Malley at the TUF 26 Finale this past December. Knowing what an 0-3 run does to a UFC newcomer, expect a highly motivated Ware in London.
UFC Fight Night 127, or UFC London if you prefer, takes place March 17 at the O2 Arena in London, England.
