FOX Sports 1 is the home of tonight’s six-fight main card as well as four prelims for UFC Austin, with an interesting lightweight bout in the featured slot.
There will be 10 fights from UFC Austin airing on FOX Sports 1 tonight, with the first four receiving preliminary distinction. Promising lightweight Jared Gordon will welcome Carlos Diego Ferreira back to the Octagon after the latter served a 17-month suspension from USADA.
Kicking off the four-fight slate is an exciting bout between scrappers Sarah Moras and Lucie Pudilova. Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras was on The Ultimate Fighter and went 2-1, losing to eventual show winner Julianna Pena. Since entering the promotion in 2014, Moras is 2-1, winning her last bout against Ashlee Evans-Smith. Pudilova is 1-1 in her last fight and has been entertaining in both of those bouts.
Sanchez vs. Sanchez in the second FS1 prelim, as Roberto Sanchez battles Joby Sanchez. Roberto won his first seven bouts as well as the LFA flyweight title before signing with the UFC. He lost in his debut to promising 125er Joseph Morales. Joby was 1-2 in his first Octagon stint, then fought his way back winning two fights on the Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series.
Brian Camozzi takes on Contender Series veteran Geoff Neal. Neal was 7-2 before getting a shot on DWTNCS, and won by first-round knockout, earning a ticket to the Octagon. Brian Camozzi was also 7-2 before getting the call from the UFC, but he has lost both his fights in the Octagon to tough fighters Chad Laprise and Randy Brown. Camozzi is the younger brother of former UFC middleweight Chris Camozzi.
Jared Gordon is a New Yorker that came to the Octagon as a 12-1 featherweight, but missed weight in his UFC debut. After the win, Gordon moved to lightweight and defeated Hacran Dias. Carlos Diego Ferreira started his career with 11 straight victories, including two stoppages in his first UFC appearances. A pair of losses to top 10 lightweights Beneil Dariush and Dustin Poirier set him back, but he recovered with a win over prospect Olivier Aubin-Mercier. Ferreira was then suspended by USADA for usage of a banned substance and has not fought since.
Lucie Pudilova vs. Sarah Moras
Pudilova pumped a few jabs to start the fight, then Moras landed a head kick that wobbled the Czech fighter. Moras charged in and took her opponent down from the back clinch, transitioning to half guard on the way down.
Pudilova retained full guard, and Moras peppered her opponent with ground and pound. Moras continued to look to pass guard but was kept in guard. Pudilova continued to eat shots, with Moras posturing up and landing elbows. Moras was still unable to get half guard despite multiple attempts.
Moras was active, but not active enough in the eyes of the referee. After standing up, Pudilova landed blistering punches, knocking down the Canadian. Pudilova dove on top but had to fight off a series of submissions from the guard from Moras. Pudilova was unable to get much off with the legs of Moras going for submission after submission.
Pudilova came out quickly in round two, landing several punches and forcing Moras to shoot. Pudilova stuffed the takedown and Moras went back to work on her submission game. Pudilova stood up to defend an armbar, and slammed Moras to the canvas. Moras was stuck in guard until Pudilova stood up following an inverted triangle effort.
There were only 40 seconds left, but that was enough for Pudilova to knock Moras down for a second time. Moras bounced back up, and the two brawled it out to end the round.
Moras started round three by hitting Pudilova with a hard right hand, but Pudilova continued to pepper Moras with straight punches. Moras shot for a takedown that was easily stuffed. The two clinched against the cage momentarily where Moras landed a knee to the chin.
Pudilova separated, landed more hard shots on the feet, and Moras shot for another takedown. Pudilova temporarily stuffed the takedown, but a second effort brought Pudilova to the ground. Moras wasn’t able to mount much offense in the two minutes that remained and was even reversed at the end of the fight after finally getting to half guard.

Jared Gordon vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira

Shortly after action resumed, another kick to the groin landed for Ferreira. The referee refused to take a point, simply giving a hard warning.
Ferreira mixed in a head kick after the fight returned to the center of the Octagon and Gordon was rocked. Ferreira came forward and knocked him down, mounted Gordon, then continued the ground and pound as Gordon turned to give Ferreira his back.
