Invicta FC is set to head to Utah, with their strawweight title on the line in the Beehive state.
As previously reported by Cageside Press, Invicta FC 28 in March will be topped by a strawweight title fight. Janaisa Morandin (10-1) will face fellow Brazilian Virna Jandiroba (12-0) for the promotion’s vacant 115lb strap at the event, taking place March 24. That much we knew previously, but on Tuesday, the promotion announced that the card will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah. The visit will mark the all-female MMA outfit’s first trip to the state.
In addition to announcing the location of Invicta FC 28, in a press release distributed Tuesday, the company unveiled a number of additional bouts for the card. Among them is the Inivcta FC debut of UFC veteran Pearl Gonzalez. Gonzalez went 0-2 in her UFC run, but had her debut in the promotion overshadowed when the New York Athletic Commission initially refused to license her for Buffalo’s UFC 210 due to Gonazalez disclosing she had breast implants.
After the news had already made the rounds, the commission eventually granted her a license.
Invicta FC 28 currently looks as follows:
Strawweight Title Bout: Janaisa Morandin (10-1) vs. Virna Jandiroba (12-0)
