Bellator 192, the promotion’s first card of the year, is almost upon us.
Bellator 192 goes down on Saturday, January 20 live at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Featuring a welterweight title fight between champ Douglas Lima and top contender Rory MacDonald, the card should bring fireworks. Newly promoted to the main event slot is the first bout from Bellator’s World Heavyweight Grand Prix 2018, featuring Chael Sonnen vs. Rampage Jackson. Despite featuring a career middleweight vs. a legend best known as a light heavyweight, that fight promises to be something of a guilty pleasure.
Also on the card, former lightweight champion Michael Chandler faces Goiti Yamauchi. With news that the winner of the bout will face Brent Primus for the 155lb title, that bout suddenly becomes all the more meaningful. Lightweight prospect Aron Pico also returns, taking on another fighter vastly more experienced in Shane Kruchten. Pico has gone 1-1 in his Bellator (and professional) career thus far. The wrestling standout bounced back nicely from a loss to Zach Freeman at Bellator NYC, defeating Justin Linn at Bellator 183.
Cageside Press was on hand Wednesday at the open workouts, featuring the four fighters atop the Bellator 192 card. Check out the gallery below for some of the action from the day’s festivities.
