Bellator’s World Heavyweight Grand Prix 2018 Has a Trailer, and It Looks Fun

Bellator’s 2018 Heavyweight Grand Prix has a fun new trailer to get you excited for the tournament next year.

There’s plenty of criticism to be made of Bellator’s heavyweight Grand Prix 2018. For starters, it’s a heavyweight tournament with only four heavyweights. There’s the inclusion of fighters not relevant for the better part of the decade. And the lack of any announced alternates (please Rory, say it ain’t so!). All that having been said, it’s going to be impossible not to watch.

Bellator likely knows that, and a new trailer for the Grand Prix adds to the fun factor. So what’s included? The latest hits from fighters like King Mo, Ryan Bader, Roy Nelson, Chael Sonnen (beating Wanderlei Silva in 2017 is apparently a ticket into a heavyweight tournament), plus footage of Frank Mir and Fedor.

The Grand Prix kicks off in January, when Rampage Jackson meets Chael Sonnen at Bellator LA, a card headlined by Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima. Roy Nelson then meets Matt Mitrione in February in Uncasville, CT.

By the end of the year, Bellator will crown a new heavyweight kick. Sure, it might be a bloated middleweight. That said, hopefully the new champ will actually show up in the Bellator cage, unlike this guy.
