ONE Championship: Immortal Pursuit may have lost Angela Lee due to a scary car crash, but the card still promises to be an exciting one!
ONE Championship announced the full lineup for its upcoming Immortal Pursuit card Friday. With a co-main event of Amir Khan vs. Adrian Pang, the event holds a lot of promise. Headlining, of course, is the retirement bout of welterweight champion Ben Askren. He’ll take on Shinya Aoki, in a fight announced earlier this year.
Replacing Angela Lee vs. Mei Yamaguchi as co-main event will be Amir Khan vs. Adrian Pang. A lightweight battle, the new co-main event will see Pang (22-10-2), a.k.a. ‘The Hunter,’ look to shake off two straight losses to Eduard Folayang and Roger Huerta. Khan (8-2), on the other hand, will ride into Immortal Pursuit on a five fight win streak. All but one of his professional bouts have come under the ONE banner.
Also added to ONE Championship: Immortal Pursuit, Brazil’s Leandro “Brodinho” Issa (14-6) will face South Korean Dae Hwan Kim (12-1). A former ONE bantamweight title challenger against Bibiano Fernades, Kim has fought just twice since that 2014 bout. Both fights, however, were wins for the South Korean, and he’ll look to continue that streak later this month against Issa.
In women’s MMA action, Singapore’s May Ooi (3-2) will meet Cambodia’s Vy Srey Khouch (2-1), while Mei Yamaguchi (16-10-1), who was set to challenge for Angela Lee’s atomweight title in the co-main event, will now take on Gina Iniong (6-2).
