A key flyweight bout has been added to the UFC Austin card next year, the UFC announced on Friday.
Somewhat buried beneath the news of Conor McGregor shoving a ref in a Bellator MMA cage, and Anderson Silva’s latest failed drug test, comes word of a big flyweight bout at UFC Fight Night 126 next year. Going down on February 18 in Austin, TX, the card will see recent flyweight title challenger Ray Borg take on standout Brandon Moreno. Both fighters will be looking to bounce back from recent losses.
The UFC announced the booking Friday on their Spanish Language Twitter account.

Moreno (14-4) had been on an eleven fight winning streak before running into Sergio Pettis in August. Pettis took Moreno to a five round unanimous decision in the main event of UFC Fight Night 114 in Mexico City that night. The bout marked Moreno’s first headlining gig in the UFC. We’ll now find out what lessons he learned from the hard-fought battle against Pettis.
Borg, of course, is coming off a loss to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216. The arm-bar submission allowed ‘Mighty Mouse’ to surpass Anderson Silva’s title defense record. The Arizona native is 11-3 thus far in his professional career.
UFC Fight Night 126, otherwise known as UFC Austin, takes place February 18 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX. No main event has been announced for the card as of yet. Additional bouts are likely to be announced in the coming weeks.
