Darren Till kicked off his path to stardom with a loud first-round stoppage of Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC Gdansk.

Darren Till is undefeated in 15 fights heading into UFC Gdansk, with a 3-0-1 record in the Octagon. Donald Cerrone made it clear that he was the much more experienced fighter, saying he has more fight night bonuses than Till has fights, which is true.

Darren Till opened up the UFC Gdansk main event with a missed hook, and Cerrone answered with a takedown effort. Till squashed the takedown and landed hard straight punches on Donald Cerrone. Cerrone landed a takedown and Till popped right back up.

The jab was landing with ease for Darren Till, as well as the left straight that followed. Cerrone seemed flustered early on and was not offering much offense aside from the two takedown efforts. Body kicks landed for Cerrone, then Till answered with an uppercut and a few left straights.

Cerrone answered with a body punch, but Till got right back on offense. Till wobbled Cerrone with a one-two, then came in with a crushing elbow. Cerrone fell back towards the fence and Till capitalized with a barrage of shots. Cerrone fell to his knees and Till leapt onto his back and finished the fight with ground and pound.

A huge coming-out party for Darren Till in the main event of UFC Gdansk with a loud first-round stoppage of Donald Cerrone. The seed was planted in the post-fight interview for a future matchup with Mike Perry as the two exchanged words through the fence. Perry has to battle the intimidating Santiago Ponzinnibio first though.

Till has the bravado of a future star, and this performance showcased the great talent he possesses as well.
