Michigan’s Drakkar Klose will be coming home for the Holidays. The UFC has confirmed to the Detroit Free Press that the lightweight will face David Teymur at UFC 218 this December. Both fighters are undefeated in their UFC careers to date. The event takes place December 2 at the Little Caesars Arena.
Klose (8-0-1) was a standout wrestler at South Haven High School in South Haven, MI, and won the 160-pound Division 3 state title in 2005. The twenty-nine year old holds victories over Devin Powell and Marc Diakiese, both via decision. He’ll look to keep his undefeated record going with a win over Teymur.
David Teymur (6-1), like Klose, is undefeated in the UFC. A member of The Ultimate Fighter 22 cast, he came up just short on the show, losing to Marcin Wrzosek in the quarter-finals. After being granted a UFC contract nonetheless, he has picked up wins over Martin Svensson, Jason Novelli, and most recently at UFC 209 against Lando Vannata.
A Swede of Aramean ancestry, Teymur will be in enemy territory against Klose, who should have the hometown crowd firmly in his corner.
