ONE Championship brought two title fights to Friday’s (Saturday local time) ONE Fight Night 24 on Amazon Prime Video.
One of those fights, however, hit a snag on Thursday during the event’s official weigh-in, when Gustavo Balart failed to hit championship weight. Off by a pound at 126, that leaves only Jarred Brooks, a former UFC star and former ONE strawweight champ, eligible to win the vacant interim strawweight title on Friday.
The winner of Brooks vs. Balart would have been a lock to face champ Joshua Pacio next. And should Brooks win, a trilogy fight with Pacio will almost certainly be next. A Balart win, however, results in a big question mark at this point.
In the co-main event, submission grappling champ Danielle Kelly looked to defend her atomweight title for the first time, opposite Mayssa Bastos.

Brooks vs. Balart is available for North American viewers on Amazon Prime Video, in its entirety. The event takes place on August 2, 2024 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Action gets underway at 8PM ET.
