The UFC returns to Abu Dhabi this week with a considerably stacked event taking place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.

The main event sees bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen taking on surging undefeated Dagestani Umar Nurmagomedov, in what has been called a title eliminator. While such notions have proven dubious throughout the history of the UFC, the winner of Sandhagen vs. Nurmagomedov will have a very good claim against the victor of Sean O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili, with that fight set just a month or so on down the road.

While Nick Diaz had to be pulled from the card due to visa issues, middleweight Shara Magomedov, a.k.a. Shara Bullet, was slotted in instead as the co-headliner, opposite Michal Oleksiejczuk. Marlon Vera, meanwhile, takes on “God of War” Deiveson Figueiredo, while Tony Ferguson looks to snap a brutal skid against Michael Chiesa.
