Lovers of standup violence had the opportunity to rejoice as Bare Knuckle FC brought KnuckleMania 2 to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday night.

While BKFC cards have always felt a little like the black sheep of the combat sports family, there were some interesting match-ups, and the usual guilty pleasure feel to BKFC’s latest offering. In the main event, for some baffling reason positioned above multiple title fights (at least on the marquee, the bout order appeared to be flipped later), were UFC veteran Mike Perry and infamous Ultimate Fighter alum Julian Lane (Let me Bang, Bro TM). The promotion could very well have marketed this as the “TMF” title fight (“Trashiest MF’er”), but at least you knew these two would go out guns blazing.

On the more sporting side of things, Luis Palomino put his lightweight championship on the line against Martin Brown, and Britain Hart-Beltran took part in the inaugural women’s flyweight championship fight against Christine Ferea.

With bare knuckle boxing essentially piggybacking on MMA, it was no surprise to see another UFC star making their debut at KnuckleMania 2. In this case, it was former featherweight title challenger Chad “Money” Mendes, in a blatant mismatch against Joshuah “Famez” Alvarez, whose 1-1 record saw a six year gap between fights.

BKFC KnuckleMania 2 takes place Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Full results from the event, available on the BKFC App and Fite.tv, can be found below. The preliminary card kicks off at 6:30 PM ET.

Bare Knuckle FC is ready to let Julian Lane and Mike Perry bang, bro.

BKFC officials announced Wednesday that Perry vs. Lane would serve as the main event of KnuckleMania 2 on February 19, 2022. Seeds for the fight were sown at BKFC Tampa last month, when the two fighters got into something of a scuffle.

David Feldman, BKFC President, also revealed in a recent interview that former UFC featherweight contender Chad Mendes would debut at the event. No opponent for Mendes has been named, Feldman told MMA Fighting. In addition to Mendes and Perry vs. Lane, Luis Palomino is set to defend his lightweight title against Martin Brown, and Britain Beltran (nee Hart) will fight for gold, against an opponent to be named later.

The event will serve as the bare knuckle debut for Perry (14-8 MMA, 0-0 BKB), the troubled UFC star who signed on with BKFC late last year. Despite his lack of bare knuckle experience, however, Perry will enter the bout off a win, after looking solid in a decision victory over Michael Seals at the inaugural Triad Combat event last November.

UFC fans will remember Julian Lane and his “let me bang, bro!” line from Ultimate Fighter <del>history</del> infamy. Lane (12-9-1 MMA, 3-4 BKB) made the switch to bare knuckle in 2018, and hasn’t looked back. Most recently, he lost a unanimous decision against Bellator MMA veteran David “Caveman” Rickels at BKFC Witchita in October.

According to Feldman, another former UFC talent, Brian Foster, is also expected to debut on the KnuckleMania 2 card.

BKFC’s KnuckleMania 2 will take place on February 19, 2022 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

UFC veteran Mike Perry was in the broadcast booth for BKFC on Thursday night, an innocent enough role. But as is commonplace with “Platinum” Mike, trouble followed him even in his broadcasting duties.

Perry, who recently picked up a win under Triller’s Triad Combat banner and who has signed on to fight with BKFC, was confronted by Ultimate Fighter veteran Julian Lane at the event. Yes, that Julian Lane, of “Let me Bang, Bro” fame.

Lane has made the transition to bare knuckle fighter over the past couple of years, and has a fight upcoming in January. For reasons unknown, he began hollering at Perry from the seating section Thursday at BKFC Tampa, throwing papers towards him as well.

That led Perry to exit the booth and engage in a wild brawl, with the two eventually being separated by security.

Lane later posted footage of the confrontation on social media.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CXSUt3nDWiq/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=f9ff2061-a681-4076-95d4-a71800f5f7e7

Perry went five years with the UFC, joining the promotion at UFC 202 in 2016. He would go on to compile a 7-8 record inside the octagon, but became a fan favorite for his knockouts and never-back-down approach to fighting.

At the same time, trouble seemed to find Perry where ever he went. Last year, he was accused of assault following an incident at a Lubbock, Texas restaurant. He also courted controversy by having his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez, serve as his only corner for his 2020 fight against Mickey Gall.

Perry’s ex-wife, Danielle Nickerson, had accused him of domestic violence earlier that year.

BKFC Tampa took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, FL.

While Bellator and the UFC were keeping MMA fans busy this weekend, Bare Knuckle FC was trotting out its most recent big signing for fans of fisticuffs in general. That was Thiago Alves, who exited the UFC last year, and signed on with the growing bare knuckle boxing outfit. His debut came at BKFC 12 on Friday.

Alves had been all set to take on Phil Baroni, until Baroni failed to provide medicals in a timely fashion, and left the promotion unable to reach him. After losing contact with a main event fighter, Julian Lane of “Let me Bang, Bro!” fame was brought in to welcome Alves to bare knuckle.

The end result was a split decision win for Alves in his debut. It was the co-main event, however, that may have stolen the show. Former UFC fighter and Bellator MMA champ Hector Lombard faced another UFC vet, Kendall Grove — and flattened him in less than two minutes.

https://twitter.com/LilHodko/status/1304618731688124416

While he picked up the win, it was not an easy night at his new office for Thiago “Pitbull” Alves.
