Five new fights have been announced for UFC Perth this May.

While MMA fans were focused on UFC Vegas 114 on Saturday, promotion officials revealed a number of bouts for the Fight Night card at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia on May 2, 2026.

Those five fights are:

Tai Tuivasa vs. Sean Sharaf at heavyweight

Junior Tafa vs. Kevin Christian at light heavyweight

Jacob Malkoun vs. Gerald Meerschaert at middleweight

Robert Bryczek vs. Cameron Rowston at middleweight

Steve Erceg vs. Tim Elliott at flyweight

Of note is Tuivasa (14-9), rather implausibly still ranked in the top 15 at heavyweight while looking to snap a six-fight skid. He takes on Sean Sharaf (4-2), a former LXF champ who is 0-2 inside the octagon.

Speaking of titles, a pair of former flyweight title challengers face off on the UFC Perth card. That fight sees Steve Erceg (13-4), who lost a title fight against Alexandre Pantoja in 2024, taking on Tim Elliott (21-13-1), who won TUF 24 to clinch a shot at Demetrious Johnson way back in 2016, only to come up short as many did against the flyweight great.

UFC Perth is headlined by former welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena, returning to action for the first time since losing his welterweight championship to Islam Makhachev last May. He takes on fellow 170lb contender Carlos Prates.

The UFC’s second event of 2026, UFC 325, transpired on Saturday— the promotion’s sophomore show on their new home network of Paramount+.

In the main event, a rematch between the featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski and challenger, Diego Lopes. In the co-main event, top ranked lightweights, Dan Hooker and Benoit Saint-Denis, thoroughly entertained the crowd in a spirited scrap. This 13-fight card also featured three Road to UFC 4 tournament finales on the early prelims. The five-fight main card proved entertaining with three finishes and the Fight of the Night. A few ranked fighters and an unranked fighter to matchup on this edition of Losers matchmaker.

Diego Lopes

Alexander Volkanovski braved a couple flash-knockdowns and ultimately put on a clinic against Diego Lopes on the way to a unanimous decision victory. Diego had just fought Volk in April of 2025 following a win over Brian Ortega. Lopes triggered a rematch with his spectacular second round finish of the streaking Jean Silva in September. Diego is now 6-3 with the UFC with his other loss coming to Movsar Evloev in 2023. An important factor to consider for Diego’s next fight is that he will be on the shelf for a while. Lopes limped out of the octagon heavily helped by his coaches and first reports following the bout reveal Diego may have broken both feet.

With that in mind, Diego’s next fight should be against Aljamain Sterling. Aljamain is ranked at #5 but he last fought in August 2025 and defeated Brian Ortega. So, timing could potentially be a bit of an issue. But Sterling also dropped a unanimous decision against Evolev, and is the former UFC bantamweight champ. It’d be a great fight to get Diego reestablished within the division after losing twice to the champ. Depending how long Lopes is out, it may or may not make sense.

Lopes’s next fight: Aljamain Sterling

Dan Hooker

Benoit Saint-Denis outpaced and melted Dan Hooker in the co main event of UFC 325 on Saturday. #8 ranked BSD, ended up scoring a late second round TKO as his pace proved just too much for the #6 ranked lightweight. Hooker falls to 14-10 in the UFC and is now on a 2-fight skid following a 3-fight win streak.

Rough outcome for Hooker here as all of his momentum has just been whisked away by that beating BSD put on him. Hooker had the bones of a good pre-fight build-up with the promotion’s new golden boy, Paddy Pimblett. The two had been exchanging shots on social media for some time and Pimblett just dropped his chance at the Interim Lightweight strap at UFC 324 just a week prior. Tough luck, as there was definitely a scenario where Hooker lost to BSD but could still draw Paddy (see UFC 324 Losers). Instead, Hooker should look to take on another fighter that suffered a finish loss Saturday, Rafael Fiziev. Rafael is ranked at #9 and the two could easily headline a fight night card. If a fight like that goes the distance, it’d likely be a fight of the year candidate.

Hooker’s next fight: Rafael Fiziev

Rafael Fiziev

Mauricio Ruffy’s rangy dynamic striking ruled supreme against Rafael Fiziev on Saturday. Ruffy wobbled and mercilessly finished Fiziev late in the second round to earn a performance bonus. The loss marks only the second time that Rafael has been stopped via strikes within his professional MMA career. Fiziev is now 7-5 in the UFC and has lost four of his last five fights. Two decisions to Justin Gaethje, a knee injury in his fight with Mateusz Gamrot and the result on Saturday against Ruffy. Fiziev’s only win the 5-fight stretch came thwarting a young, hungry, Ignacio Bahamondes, in June of last year. A very legitimate victory proving he is in that elite (top 10) echelon.

Rafael was slated to take on a #3 ranked, Charles Oliveria, following that win but suffered an injury, forcing the bout to be cancelled. Big opportunity missed there as Charles has now drawn Max Holloway later this year- and then the outcome for Rafael on Saturday against the #14 ranked lightweight.

With all this in mind, Fiziev’s next fight should be against Dan Hooker. Timing would match up and both guys are now in very similar positions, tested, early to mid-thirties, strikers, fan favorites and in desperate need of an ‘elite’ win. Both were finished in a similar amount of time so maybe recovery lengths will be similar as well.

Fiziev’s next fight: Dan Hooker

Tai Tuivasa

Tallison Teixiera weathered several thunderous rallies from an exhausted Tai Tuivasa on the way to unanimous decision victory on Saturday. Tuivasa had not fought since August of 2024. Tai’s losing streak grows to six with the heavyweight fighter now boasting a UFC record of 8-9. This is a very tough spot for “Bam Bam” to be in especially coming of an extended hiatus, there were multiple points during the fight where his gas tank was an issue.

Tai’s quite possibly too popular for an axe from the promotion. But make no mistake, the situation is currently dire for Tai. Two more losses, max, and he’s likely released.

The next bout for Tai should be against Ryan Spann. Spann has a similar story/trajectory as Tuivasa, though he is 36 instead of 32. Spann is 9-6 with the UFC and an early Contender Series veteran. Ryan, a long-time light heavyweight, moved up to heavyweight in 2025 and 1-1 since the move. Spann was finished in the second round by a red-hot Waldo Cores-Acosta last year (who went 4-1 in 2025). Spann submitted Lukasz Brzeski in the first round of the pair’s bout in July but withdrew from his upcoming fight against Rizivan Kuniev on February 7th.

Excellent matchup to target here as Spann is well known but isn’t ranked within the division. Heavyweight always has been (and will be) shallow, so Ryan isn’t far from having a number next to his name. This fight has feature prelim written all over it with the winner drawing a ranked fighter.

Tuivasa’s next fight: Ryan Spann

Jamie Mullarkey

Quillan Salkilld made quick work of Jamie Mullarkey, submitting him in the first round to kick off UFC 325’s main card on Saturday. The rear naked choke earned Quillan Salkilld a performance bonus. Mullarkey wasn’t even the original opponent, but filled in on short notice after the original, Rongzhu, withdrew. Mullarkey valiantly answered the call against a 26-year-old, 11-1 fighter, who is 4-0 with the UFC. 31-year-old Mullarkey is now 2-4 in his last six fights. Jamie has taken on some real fighters with his losses coming to Muhammad Naimov, Nasrat Haqparast and Mauricio Ruffy in that stretch.

Mullarkey’s next fight should be against Jai Herbert. Jai was last in action agaisnt Chris Padilla in March of 2025, dropping a split decision. Herbert hasn’t fought since then and is 2-3-1 in his last six bouts. Very similar to Mullarkey, he’s faced stiff competition in the span, losing to now lightweight champ. Illia Topuria, Fares Ziam and his majority draw coming against L’udovit Klein. Solid matchup here, tough-nosed, just-outside the ranking’s fighters- 6-7 with the promotion vs. 3-5-1.

Mullarkey’s next fight: Jai Herbert or Drew Dober

After a year and a half out of action, heavyweight Tai Tuivasa returned to the octagon at UFC 325, facing off with towering Brazilian Tallison Teixeira.

Tuivasa was also looking to snap a five fight skid, with his last victory coming back in February of 2022. Still, he remained ranked #12 in the UFC’s heavyweight division, the promotion’s shallowest.

As for Teixeira, he’d never left the first round. That was about the change.

Teixeira almost immediately got the fight to the ground, with Tuivasa cramped against the fence just 15 seconds into the fight. Tuivasa tried to power up, but Teixeira was draped across his back, landing punches to the body. Tai did make it up, but Teixeira was still on him and landed a knee to the body. Tuivasa turned, back to the fence, but wound up taken down again, with Teixeira in mount this time. Tuivasa turned, with Teixeira in three-quarter mount from behind, landing the odd punch. “Bam Bam” Tuivasa had spent the entire fight to that point in defensive mode, on the canvas for most of it.

Teixeira would find space to land some decently heavy punches, but not blows hard enough to knock him out. Teixeira looked for a rear-naked choke next, but wasn’t in position. Instead, Tuivasa powered up and out, the crowd erupting with cheers as he got back to his feet. He’d go on the offensive briefly before they tied up. If nothing else, Tuivasa survived the round.

Round two opened with Teixeira firing a kick. Tuivasa fanned on a right, and Teixeira fanned on another kick. Tai hit a leg kick, Teixeira fanned on another kick of his own. Then came a spinning back fist from Tallison, which Tuivasa deftly ducked under. The towering Brazilian appeared to have slowed a step, perhaps having expended too much energy in round one. Tuivasa touched the inside leg with a kick, then landed a hard one outside. He connected with a right, landed a kick, then Teixeira landed several strikes, which Tai simply ate, granite-chinned. Teixeira drove into a takedown and landed it, but Tuivasa nearly escaped only to be taken down again.

Teixeira then moved to side control before mounting, with Tuivasa flat on his back holding on. He’d eventually roll to his front, giving up his back and eating shots. Teixeira then pushed Tuivasa to his back again, and moved into mount once again. Tuivasa would again survive the round, but despite a better start to the second frame, he was likely down two heading into the third.

Tuivasa walked Teixeira down early in round three, but seemed hesitant to pull the trigger. Both men seemed tired. Tai finally landed a few wild, looping punches, then clinched up. Not the best idea, and likely the result of fatigue. The grappled against the fence, and Tai finally landed. Then he opened up, landing a couple more. Teixeira was stumbling backwards. Tuivasa smelled blood. He landed a left, a right, another right. A left missed. Tuivasa clinched again. Half a round was still on the clock.

From the clinch, back to the fence, Teixeira fired a knee. It looked like he might have a takedown, but Tuivasa was able to stay up. Near the one minute mark, he opened up again, landing a few more blows. Then a few more. Teixeira went to his knees, face down. Tai controlled from the front, but any hope of a finish seemed to be back on the feet. Instead, the fight ended on the ground, with Tai landing multiple body shots.

Official Result: Tallison Teixeira def. Tai Tuivasa by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Tai Tuivasa has been on the sidelines since his August 2024 loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik. He returns this weekend at UFC 325 in Sydney against the rising Tallison Teixeira in a Heavyweight brawl.

Tuivasa (14-8) went on a layoff following a five-fight losing streak that saw him finished in four of those losses. He hopes to get back to his winning ways after this reset and sees his career as a blessing.

“I had more time off, I think it played a really big part. Didn’t do s***, ate, drank, and chilled with my son,” Tuivasa stated during this week’s UFC 325 media day. “I watched a lot of people who have done very great things in this sport get to the end and not really know what to do. Just needed some time off, I’ve enjoyed myself, my whole career, I’ve enjoyed myself. I’ve got to do the best s***, travel the world, party around the world, and fight the best people. I’m gifted, I’m blessed.”

Tuivasa continued, “I missed it. I needed to miss it; I miss winning. I’m ready for one this week.”

Tuivasa emphasized his commitment to returning and fighting:

“I’ve never said no. Every date I said I wanted to fight, I’ve rocked up, and that’s what I’m going to do this week. I’m gonna show the heavyweight division, I’m still here, don’t forget about the fat boy.”

When asked whether the title was still on his mind, Tuivasa made his plans clear.

“That’s my plan. Everything I’ve said, I pretty much did to myself, so I needed that break; I had a year off. I plan to go in here, get the job done, and put my hand up for another one.”

“It doesn’t really matter about him, I’m gonna come and give it my all. He’s good, he’s young, he’s done a few things, I think it’s gonna be a good show,” Tuivasa continued, “He’s big, I f***ing know that.”

Despite this fight being a hometown fight in Sydney for ‘Bam Bam’, he seems to pay that no mind. Tuivasa instead has shifted focus to himself and giving himself what he feels he deserves.

“Doesn’t matter to me, the crowds are always good for Bam Bam, so I don’t really care. I’ve just been focusing on myself this camp, and this year I want to focus a lot on myself. I owe this year to myself, so I’m gonna go hard.

“Fighting is what I do, I love to fight. If anything, this is what I missed. I missed the whole hype, preparing for it, and going out and challenging yourself. I think that’s the thing I missed most, but I definitely missed winning more.”

When asked how his mindset has shifted since his last fight, the heavyweight brawler feels like taking time off really helped reset his mind.

“Rested. I said yesterday you put all of yourself into the camp, you try your hardest, you work your a** off every day. This sports not for the faint-hearted, that’s for sure. Losers stop, I don’t stop.”

“I feel like I’ve worked on myself a bit, I’m a lot happier. I’m ready to make some money this year.”

UFC 305 featured a night of technical battles and thrilling finishes on both the main card and undercard. The five-fight main card started off with a huge finish by Carlos Prates that landed him a performance bonus. And the co main event also delivered as Kaai Kara-France earned a cool 50k for his stoppage. As for the main event, UFC middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis successfully defended his belt against former middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. A few fighters now find themselves in losing streaks and in positions that haven’t recently, if ever, on the UFC 305 main card.

Israel Adesanya

Israel Adesanya was submitted by rear naked choke by UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 305. Adesanya, who entered the bout as the #2 ranked middleweight has now lost 3 of his last 4 fights. (Despite his last 12 bouts being title fights.)

Adesanya should get the winner of Nassourdine Imavov vs. Brendan Allen on the co main event of the September 28th card. Brendan Allen is on a massive seven fight win streak featuring five submission finishes. Nassourdine Imavov has won five of his last seven fights. His last two wins were over Roman Dolidze, and he became the first man to stop Jared Cannonier (albeit controversially) back in June.

Imavov is ranked at #4, Allen is ranked at #7 and either fighter would be a fresh match up to determine where Izzy is at in his career.

Adesanya’s next fight: Winner of Nassourdine Imavov vs. Brendan Allen

Steve Erceg

Steve Erceg was stopped in the first round of the co main event of UFC 305 by the heavy-handed, Kai Kara-France. Steve’s losing streak has racked up to two after losing his title shot to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 301 earlier this year. Before that he was on a 3-0 run in the UFC.

Erceg entered the bout ranked at #7 while his Kara-France was ranked at #4 in the UFC flyweight division.

Steve Erceg should fight Manel Kape in his next fight. Kape, who has had a string of bad luck in terms of fight cancelations, lost in his most recent fight by unanimous decision to Muhammad Mokaev. #9 ranked Kape would be a great fight for Erceg to try in prove he belongs in the upper part of the top ten once again.

Erceg’s next fight: Manel Kape

Mateusz Gamrot

Mateusz Gamrot lost a razor close split decision to Dan Hooker on Saturday. The fight also won Fight of the Night honors as it was a back-and-forth affair. Gamrot was ultimately derailed from his three-fight win streak over Jalin Turner, Rafael Fiziev and Rafael dos Anjos. Gamrot entered the fight as the #5 ranked lightweight in the UFC while Hooker was ranked at #11.

Mateusz should rematch Rafael Fiziev in his next fight. Fiziev has not fought since his September 2023 second round TKO by knee injury to Mateusz. It’d be the perfect fight for #8 ranked Fiziev to return to as on many scorecards he was winning the five round bout up until the injury.

Gamrot’s next fight: Rafael Fiziev II

Tai Tuivasa

Tai Tuivasa lost a controversial split decision to Jairzinho Rozenstruik on Saturday. Tuivasa is now in abysmal slump as the fan favorite has now lost five fights in a row and he’s been stopped in four of those losses.

Tai entered the fight on Saturday ranked at #10 in the UFC heavyweight division. Rozenstruik came in ranked at #12.

Rodrigo Nascimento could be a matchup that makes sense for Tai at this point. Nascimento is ranked at #15 at the writing of this article. Nascimento was on a 3-fight win streak until #11 ranked Derrick Lewis stopped him in the third round of his first UFC main event. Would make a lot of sense with the current fight that are already booked and considering Tuivasa’s losing streak.

Tuivasa’s next fight: Rodrigo Nascimento

Li Jingliang

Li Jingliang was KO’d by Carlos Prates in the second round of the first bout on UFC 305’s main card. Jingliang has now lost three of his last five fights dating back to the beginning of 2021. It’ll surely be a tough loss to stomach as it was the first time Li was KO’d in his career.

A good matchup for “The Leech” would be Alex Morono. Both fighters have a common opponent in Santiago Ponzinibbio. Morono also lost in his most recent fight back in June against Niko Price. That fight makes sense stylistically as well.

Jingliang’s next fight: Alex Morono

The post What’s Next: UFC 305 Losers appeared first on Cageside Press.

Australian heavyweight Tai Tuivasa looked to snap a perilous four-fight skid when he faced off with Jairzinho Rozenstruik on the PPV portion of UFC 305 on Saturday.

The Perth, Australia-based card found Tuivasa having lost to fighters including Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov during that slump. Former kickboxer and RIZIN veteran Rozenstruik, for his part, entered off a win over Shamil Gaziev.

The fight opened with an exchanges of kicks, with both men looked reserved. About a minute in, they opened up in a little flurry, which left Tuivasa circling on the outside. Tai was using plenty of feints, which led to a bit of a chess match/feeling out process. A big swing and a miss on a leg kick swung Tuivasa around; Rozenstruik would fire a kick up high a moment later, which was blocked. Heading into the final 90 seconds of the round, kicks were the best weapon either man had employed. Rozenstruik, however, added a shot to the body.

Tuivasa got going in the second, firing his right hand and drawing a reaction from both Rozenstruik and the crowd. A moment later, Tai landed the right, then unleashed a flurry. Rozenstruik was forced to back up, but Rozenstruik uncorked a left that clipped Tai! These two big men were full throttle now. Tuivasa again backed Rozenstruik up, but had to be wary of the counter.

It was still anyone’s fight, but Tuivasa appeared to hurt himself off a kick. Hopping gingerly, Tuivasa now had to contend with Rozenstruik pouring it on. Tuivasa battled back, marching Rozenstruik down, bad leg or no. Too much of the first two rounds, however, had been fought at Jair Rozenstruik’s pace, something Tuivasa would have to mitigate in the third round if he had any hope of a win.

Tuivasa was looking to land his right hand early in the third, hunting the knockout blow. He fired a front kick, if nothing else showing his leg was holding together. Rozenstruik touched the lead leg with a kick. Rozenstruik landed a punch, Tuivasa answered back, and they traded kicks to the body. Plenty of back-and-forth played out in the third, but time, as it usually does, became a factor. Tai needed a finish, and over-committed on a right. Another one fanned, and Tuivasa signaled that he’d been clipped low, but opted to continue with no break.

The final 90 seconds found Tuivasa unable to find the finish he needed, though not for lack of effort. He couldn’t find a way inside until the final 20 seconds however, where he finally clipped Rozenstruik mere seconds before the final horn.

Come the scorecards, Rozenstruik took what appeared to be an obvious decision win – but judge Howie Booth, in a particular questionable bit of judging, scored it 30-27 for Tai.

Official Result: Jarizinho Rozenstruik def. Tai Tuivasa by split decision (29-28, 27-30, 30-27)

Perth – UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa got some sparring in with light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira as he gets set to face another heavy-hitter in Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 305 on Saturday night.

“It was kind of my first training session back and I got the sh*t punched out of me,” Tuivasa told reporters on Wednesday.

“I think I left the a few days after that to Dubai and I was like f*ck I better go train.”

Tuivasa (14-7) is used to taking big shots from opponents, but he sparred Poatan cold without a training.

“His power was…I’m fighting heavyweight so we can take a punch or two, but it was more I hadn’t been training. I went in and I was f*cking running out of breath and getting the sh*t punched out of me,” Tuivasa said with a grin.

“But that’s the sport we do. It’s all fun and games.”

With Rozenstruik the fans can expect an all hands affair with both men preferring to strike and skip the grappling.

“I supposed it’s a good fight for both of us. I’ve been watching him for a while now,” he said.

“They’re usually the fights I like to take and challenge myself. I’m looking forward to it.”

Perth – UFC heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik is not confused as to who the heavyweight champ is as he gets set to face Tau Tuivasa at UFC 305 on Saturday night.

“Let’s be honest Jon Jones is the real champ,” Rozenstruik told reporters on Wednesday.

“Tom (Aspinall) did what he’s supposed to do as interim champ because he’s in line for the next championship fight, but Jon Jones is the real champ. Take nothing away from Tom he did an amazing job and that’s what he’s supposed to do.”

Aspinall has been calling for a fight with Jones prior to finishing Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. With the victory it’s clear that Aspinall would be in line for a proper title fight should the winner of Jones vs. Stipe Miocic remain in the UFC.

Rozenstruik (14-5) face Tuivasa in Perth. Two heavy-handed strikers getting into the octagon seems like a recipe for fireworks and a short fight.

“You know what I think I go for the first round knockout all the time cuz I know I have the ability. If it goes to the second round or the third round I might take my time, finish it off, make it a proper knockout,” he said.

“Brutal, crazy, highlight, you know?”

A number of UFC mid-carders hit speed bumps on Saturday at UFC Vegas 88, while popular heavyweight Tai Tuivasa suffered his fourth consecutive defeat in the night’s main event. Where they go from here is an interesting question, especially for those who are likely permanently out of the title picture.

Let’s take a look at what might be the next play for Tuivasa and co.

Tai Tuivasa

Tai Tuivasa was once a top five heavyweight in the UFC. Let that sink in for a moment.

Tuivasa is a fun, popular big man. Lots of fun. He absolutely deserves to be in the UFC and is always entertaining, but that top five ranking, well, heavyweight might be the heaviest of divisions (we know, super heavyweight is a thing outside the UFC), but it’s also the thinnest.

Tai’s biggest wins came against 2018 Andrei Arlovski, Stefan Struve, and Derrick Lewis. Since the Lewis fight, however, he’s been stopped four times: twice by submission, twice by knockout.

Even at 0-4, his immense popularity will land “Bam Bam” another fight. From the walkout to the shoe-y after a win, he entertains, so that’s fine. But no one in the top 10, please. Outside the top 10 however is Alexander Romanov, who doesn’t have a fight booked and hasn’t competed since July. He did win a grappling match against Chris Daukaus in December. “Bam Bam” versus “Kong” works for us. Both have recent losses to Marcin Tybura, though Romanov bounced back against Blagoy Ivanov.

Tuivasa’s next fight: Alexander Romanov

Bryan Battle/Ange Loosa

There’s not a lot to say about this. Eye pokes happen, no contests happen, what happened in the cage after the result was read out should not have happened. Run it back.

Battle/Loosa’s next fight: rematch

Kennedy Nzechukwu

After a trio of wins over Karl Roberson, Ion Cutelaba, and Devin Clark, Kennedy Nzechukwu looked destined for bigger things in the 205lb division. Unfortunately, he’s now dropped back-to-back fights against Dustin Jacoby and Ovince St. Preux, the latter at UFC Vegas 88.

To be fair to Nzechukwu, Jacoby has flirted with the rankings and OSP is the most experienced light heavyweight in the company. That said, Nzechukwu will be looking at a step back now.

Jimmy Crute would be an option here, but he’s on hiatus at the moment. Ion Cutelaba is coming off a loss, but that’s a rematch that doesn’t need to happen any time soon. There’s another rematch out there for Kennedy, however: Da Un Jung. The pair first met in 2021, so at least a little more time has passed than with Cutelaba. Jung won that meeting, but hasn’t won since, going 0-3.

Nzechukwu’s next fight: Da Un Jung

Isaac Dulgarian

Isaac Dulgarian more or less dominated two rounds on Saturday at UFC Vegas 88 and lost a decision to Christian Rodriguez after gassing in the third. This easily could have been scored a draw, but it goes down as a loss for Dulgarian. That’s the first career loss for “The Midwest Choppa” who is now 6-1. Outside select top prospects, no one should be entering the UFC with less than 10 fights, but that’s where we’re at with the Contender Series slowly turning into a content mill (plus Lookin’ for a Fight, where Dulgarian graduated from).

Dan Arguetta is 9-1 with a pair of No Contests; these two were supposed to fight previously. Arguetta has a fight booked with Jean Matsumoto, give Isaac the loser.

Dulgarian’s next fight: Arguetta vs. Matsumoto loser

Pannie Kianzad

Pannie Kianzad was submitted by Macy Chiasson for the second time at UFC Vegas 88, leaving her 1-3 in her last four. In any other division that would be a bigger concern but bantamweight is thin beyond belief and Kianzad probably has a bit of job security still. The TUF 28 alum was actually ranked #6 in the division prior to the loss; she’ll be fighting down now, with Josiane Nunes, who also lost on Saturday, a timely option.

Kianzad’s next fight: Josiane Nunes

Bryan Barberena

Considering Gerald Meerschaert is out here tying records with Anderson Silva, a loss to him isn’t too concerning for Bryan Barberena. What is concerning is the 0-4 skid the other “Bam Bam” on the card is on. Actually, both Tuivasa and Barberena are in the same boat, but Bryan doesn’t have that main event, fan fave status though he is entertaining. If he sticks around, an incoming Contender Series alum probably works.

Barberena’s next fight: DWCS winner
