“I usually say I’m Pacquiao but for MMA.” he told Cageside Press recently. “The new generation.”

Pacquiao is a promising, undefeated young fighter, and he’s been staying busy. With a bantamweight title fight coming up at the upcoming Spar Star Promotions 47 (SSP 47) on March 21, he’s already competing for the second time in 2020. And the fourth time in five months.

“It’s very important, while you’re young, you’re uninjured, you’re healthy, to keep it going,” he explained. “You got a good ball rolling, keep the momentum on your side, just keep it going man.”

A good portion of Pacquiao’s teammates are fighting the week before his SSP 47 bout, at LXF 5. Everyone peaking at the same time, in the same mode, “it feels good, it’s a good vibe over here,” he said. “Everyone is in fight mode and we’re all pushing the pace, so it feels good to have a good room of killers, just trying to push you and make you better. But we all have a fight, so it’s a good vibe man.”

25-year old Pacquiao’s upcoming fight for the Spar Star bantamweight championship comes against Michael Mazariego, who is 1-1 under the SSP banner to date.

On his opponent, Pacquiao said that “he’s a good game guy, he has good power in his hands. I’m not really going to talk too much about the game plan but I like the match-up.”

“It’s going to be a good fight, I don’t think its going to go to the judges,” he predicted. “I’m finishing him, no matter what, if it’s jiu-jitsu, ground and pound or striking on the feet.”
