Parnasse, originally expected to face 155lb champ Marian Ziołkowski, drew Sabastian  Rajewski instead after Ziolkowski was forced off the card due to injury. Which meant that, rather than an undisputed title, Parnasse would have to settle for collecting an interim belt, should he prove able to get past Rajewski in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland.

Also featured on Saturday’s KSW 76 card, Antun Racic faced off with Zuriko
Jojua, while Argentina’s Francisco Albano Barrio looked for his fourth consecutive win, and third under the KSW banner, against Maciej Kazieczko.

England’s Tom Breese, meanwhile, looked to maintain his undefeated record since leaving the UFC against fellow octagon vet Pawel Pawlak.

In his place, Sebastian Rajewski will face Salahdine Parnasse for interim lightweight gold. Parnasse, who was originally booked to face Ziółkowski atop the show, is the promotion’s reigning featherweight champion, and was looking to add a second KSW belt to his collection this November.

That may still come to pass, but for now, it will be the interim variety.

Promotion officials announced the switch on Friday, during the broadcast of KSW 75. The circumstances of Ziółkowski’s injury were not disclosed.

Parnasse (16-1) has won three straight, and has long been considered one of the best 145lb prospects outside of the UFC and Bellator MMA. He’ll enter the bout off the first defense of his featherweight title, against Daniel Rutkowski back in March.

Rajewski (12-7) was defeated by Ziółkowski in a lightweight title fight this past June.

KSW 76 is expected to take place in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland on November 12, 2022. The following bouts are attached to the card thus far:

Headlining the card, Marian Ziolkowski was looking to make the third defense of his 155 pound belt, taking on Sebastian Rajewski. A five-fight KSW veteran, Rajewski had won three straight to claim his shot at gold.

Ziolkowski, who had likewise won three straight since coming up short against Mateusz Gamrot, had two finishes in his last three fights. With ex-champ Gamrot exiting the promotion to head to the UFC, Ziolkowski had claimed the vacant title in 2020.

In the co-main event of KSW 71, kickboxing legend Errol Zimmerman squared off with former heavyweight champ Marcin Rozalski in a hybrid rules fight. The fight was contested under the K-1 rule set, but using MMA gloves and three five-minute rounds.

KSW 71, which will take place on June 18 in Torun, Poland, will be headlined by a lightweight title fight, as Sebastian Rajewski challenges champ Marian Ziolkowski. But a fight between K-1 & SuperKombat tournament champion Zimmerman and former KSW heavyweight champ Marcin Rozalski should also turn heads.

Promotion officials announced the news in a press release on Wednesday.

Zimmerman, with over twenty years of kickboxing experience, boasts a 103-13 record in that sport. At KSW 71, he’ll compete in MMA gloves under the K-1 ruleset, across three five minute rounds. The Dutch striker known as “The Bonecrusher” holds wins over Jerome Le Banner, Rico Verhoeven, Stefan Leko and others.

For Rozalski (7-4 MMA), he’ll be returning to KSW for the first time since 2017, when he defeated Fernando Rodrigues Jr. at the historic KSW 39: Colosseum. Rozalski hasn’t exactly been idle since: he’s competed in both kickboxing and bare-knuckle boxing in the ensuing years, most recently losing to Josh Barnett in the bare-knuckle realm.

Lightweight champion Ziolkowski (24-8-1), who won the title vacated by Mateusz Gamrot in 2020, will be looking to make his third consecutive title defense against Rajewski. Currently on a three-fight win streak, Ziolkowski most recently won a unanimous decision against former KSW welterweight champ Borys Mańkowski.

For his part, Rajewski (12-6) has won three straight fights under the KSW banner, most recently picking up a unanimous decision win over UFC veteran Niklas Backstrom.
