The Professional Fighters League will return to Sioux Falls, South Dakota this May, and on Wednesday announced the first two fights attached to the card.

Headlining PFL Sioux Falls at the Sanford Pentagon on May 2, 2026 will be welterweight standout Logan Storley (18-4), facing Florim Zendeli (11-1-1). Also announced via press release, former LFA champ Cheyanne Bowers (7-2) will make her promotional debut opposite Sabrinna de Sousa (5-0).

Storley, a former Bellator interim champ, sits ranked #4 in the PFL’s 170lb division, while Zendeli holds the #7 position. “Storm” Storley is a South Dakota native who last competed in Sioux Falls in June 2024. The 33-year old saw a three-fight win streak snapped when he fell to Thad Jean in the PFL Welterweight World Tournament final last August.

Albania’s Florim Zendeli won the PFL Europe tournament at lightweight in 2024, his first year with the promotion. He fought just once in 2025, notching a win over Omar El Dafrawy as part of the PFL Champions Series card in Dubai last October.

Former interim LFA flyweight champ Cheyanne Bowers was a solid signing by the promotion earlier this year, and makes her debut against the #9-ranked de Sousa. Bowers has won her last two fights, both under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner, while de Sousa is undefeated as a pro in MMA, with two wins inside the PFL cage.

The PFL World Tournament welterweight final had the potential to be a star turn for Thad Jean, an unbeaten but little-known talent paired up with former Bellator interim champ Logan Storley.

Coming immediately after a thriller between Movlid Khaybulaev and Jesus Pinedo, the UFC Atlantic City main event, with $500,000 in prize money awaiting the winner, did not disappoint.

It wasn’t long before Logan Storley shot his first takedown of the PFL World Tournament welterweight final. And it wasn’t long before Thad Jean was right back to his feet.

When a second takedown attempt came, rather shockingly, it was Jean turning the tables on “Storm” Storley, getting on top and moving straight to mount. Moments later, Storley was belly down, though just when things were looking bleak, he seemed to wake up, scrambling out and back to his feet.

Shockingly perhaps, Jean was more than up to the task of stuffing Storley’s takedowns for the bulk of the round. And in the second, the upstart hurt Storley early, going to the body. Storley backed up, covering up, and Jean laid into him. Storley was able to withstand that barrage, but it left Thad Jean feeling good enough to showboat a little.

Perhaps prematurely. Moments later, with half the round still on the clock, Storley landed a key takedown. Jean stayed active, looking to scramble then tried to lock up a triangle. No dice, and Storley spent some time on top. Not enough time, however: Jean would free himself. And back on the feet, Jean fired a front kick to the face, then really unleashed fury. A head kick, blocked. Lefts, rights, a jump knee that connected clean, a knee to the face. Soon Logan Storley was on his knees, Thad Jean landing punch after punch. Storley was bloodied, but somehow survived (Jean, it should be noted, was warned for blows to the back of the head, though none appeared to be intentional).

Round three found Thad Jean grooving again. Light on his feet, shucking and jiving (or perhaps just bobbing and weaving, but that’s less poetic). Great movement. Great footwork. An impressive sprawl stuffed a takedown attempt just under two minutes in. Storley, denied, put his weight on Jean against the fence. He could not, however, keep Jean there.

At center, Storley would land a takedown, giving him 90 seconds to try to win a fairly close round. Jean would scramble, only to see that backfire, with Storley able to move to mount. Yet moments later, Jean used the fence to push off, creating just enough space to escape out the back door from under Storley.

Jean’s jab was still snappy in the fourth round, but Storley began having success walking him down, cutting off the cage. A right hand landed for Storley, whose gas tank had never really been a question. Jean was showing signs of fatigue, however, and no longer appeared to have the energy to sprawl and fight off takedown attempts the way he had early. Instead, Storley was able to shoot, get Jean to his knees, and drape himself over the back.

Still, Jean did escape, landing more than once on Storley as they came up to the final minute of round four. Another takedown landed for Storley, though Jean was quickly back up.

Logan Storley went back to his bread and butter, the wrestling, in round five. When he couldn’t land it, the pair moved back to center, where Storley successfully blocked a high kick. Another shot came moments later, with Storley landing it. He looked to take the back, with half the round remaining. Two and a half minutes until someone claimed World Tournament gold. Jean once again was able to get back to his feet, despite the fatigue he’d so obviously been showing. There was also the question of whether Storley could win a decision; Jean almost certainly had won two, if not three rounds.

In the final minute, a sloppy Storley takedown attempt was answered with the active hands of Jean. He connected more than once. Moments later, he did so with a knee, and right hand. Storley was leaking blood again. They finished the round trading, Jean getting the better of the exchanges, as he had all fight long.

The judges saw it for Thad Jean. Easily the right call.

Speaking to Dan Hardy after the fight, Jean thanked his supporters for coming out. “This is my job, and I’m ready to fight whoever’s next!” he exclaimed. The “Silverback” improved to 11-0 with the win, after one of the most memorable runs in PFL history.

Official Result: Thad Jean def. Logan Storley by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)

The first batch of PFL World Tournament finals is set, with Logan Storley and Thad Jean headlining this Friday’s PFL Atlantic City.

Storley is looking to make good on the promising start to his MMA career, which had seen him rise from a hot prospect in Bellator, to an interim champ in that promotion before falling to then-champ Yaroslav Amosov. As for Thad Jean, he is an undefeated 10-0 to start his MMA run, and was little-known before entering the PFL World Tournament at welterweight, where he’s won his first two fights.

This year’s PFL tournament, rebranded from a “season” to the PFL World Tournament, has felt abbreviated, and that’s perhaps because it has been. It started in April, and unlike the previous PFL seasonal efforts, it’s over well before November. The finals kick off this Friday, in fact.

Still, the brisk pace is something that welterweight finalist Logan Storley, a former Bellator MMA interim champ, has appreciated.

“It’s kind of crazy because us as fighters, you always have that high of your last fight, especially the ones with the wins,” stated Storley (18-3), speaking to Cageside Press in a recent interview. “This tournament, it’s kind of like, you’re not forgetting about it, but you’re moving on because you’re getting right back into camp. And so I’ve kind of really enjoyed it just because you’re staying active.”

“I think a sport like MMA, it’s just a hard sport to get experience, and kind of get the momentum always rolling,” Storley continued. “Because you’ll fight, you’ll feel great and all of a sudden you’ll take a six month break, or you don’t fight for six months. Then you’ll have two back-to-back, then you don’t fight for six to eight months.”

Compared to other sports, noted Storley, “if you look at other major leagues, they’re competing once a week, twice a week, for 16 games, 17 games. I think MLB [major league baseball], it’s 162 games.” With the tournament format the PFL is using, keeping fighters active, “you get that momentum rolling, and you get just so much better I feel like.”

Storley, who fights Thad Jean in the welterweight PFL final in Atlantic City this Friday, might be expected to fight for the Champions Series belt next. Yet he hasn’t looked too far ahead, in part because he doesn’t know if a title shot will immediately follow the World Tournament.

“I haven’t [thought about it], because we haven’t been told a ton. PFL, I think we’re heading in the right direction, I think they’re doing a really good job – happy with the tournament, eight guys, single elimination, guys get to fight on the undercard. I really like how they did everything this year, but we haven’t really been told a ton about what this Champions Series looks like. What our scheduled looks like, all that.”

That has left Storley focusing on the tournament and the job at hand. “You go and win this tournament then you can kind of, you dictate your future, what your schedule looks like. For me that’s where I’m at right now. I’m just worried about Thad Jean, I know he’s a very tough kid, and I’ve got to go in there and beat him first.”

During Wednesday’s PFL World Tournament final media day, Storley, who works with the likes of Robbie Lawler and Nick Lentz, added that “with wrestling, you never look ahead. So Friday night, all I’m worried about is getting that belt, and then talking to PFL and see where we’re at. See what the schedule looks like next year, what their plans are, and then go from there.”

Nashville, TN — Welterweight Logan Storley punched his ticket to the PFL World Tournament final at PFL Nashville on Thursday, care of a unanimous decision win over Masayuki Kikuiri.

It’s now seven weeks to a fight with Thad Jean, though Storley (18-3) had been rooting for teammate Jason Jackson instead. Jean took that fight by split decision later in the night.

As far as the turnaround, “it’s not a long time, and I’ve been in these situations before with wrestling, high-level tournaments, doing a season,” Storley told media outlets including Cageside Press following the bout. “I know how to do it, and I have the best team in the world.”

The compact schedule of the World Tournament, however, is something Storley sees as beneficial in the long run. “It’s nice when you get to stay active, because you’ve done Fight Week before the walk. Everything gets a little more comfortable. That was my what, 21st fight? When you take long breaks, it always sucks to go back to it. When you get to stay active, I think it just helps build that momentum.”

Much has been made in the PFL essentially halving the prize money for their World Tournament this year. In their previous season format, winners took home a million dollars, cumulative throughout the season. Now, fighters get their purse plus $500,000 should they win the tournament, which is a single-elimination, grand prix style.

Critics have pointed to the pay cut as a sign of the PFL’s struggles, but Storley doesn’t seem fixated on the money.

“For me, this year we spent a lot of time on being grateful for the opportunity to compete, not about the money. A lot of people have made five hundred grand or a million dollars in their life. Not a lot, very very very few people ever get to compete at the highest level in front of people for a living. So I’m pretty grateful to get to do that, and get to do it with some of my best friends in my corner.”

Nashville, TN — In recent weeks, the Professional Fighters League has made some fan-friendly moves, including the launch of the PFL App, where western fans can watch international events for free, a pledge to leave Universal Studios and have all shows at road venues, and the announcement of affordable ticket prices.

The resulting surge in good will has things looking a little sunnier in PFL land ahead of the World Tournament Semifinals, the first stop of which is PFL Nashville this Thursday.

“I’m excited for PFL’s future. We’ve got a great roster, great people leading this company, and we put on exciting fights, right? So I think it’s going to continue to grow, and continue to get better and better,” welterweight Logan Storley (17-3) said of the recent changes during Tuesday’s PFL Nashville media day. “So for us as fighters, that’s what we want to do, is put on exciting fights and show the world that the PFL has some of the best fighters as well.”

Storley could find himself on a collision course with Kill Cliff FC teammate and fellow Bellator alum Jason Jackson should both come away victorious on Thursday. Of course, there are other things on “Storm’s” mind at the moment.

“Biggest thing for me is, I’ve got a weight cut ahead of me, and I’ve got 15 minutes against a very, very good opponent,” stated Storley. “And so that’s all I’m worried about, is semifinals, Thursday night. For me, that’s where my focus is at.”

That tough opponent is Masayuki Kikuiri, a Japanese Pancrase champ who also competed for Bellator MMA. Kikuiri enters PFL Nashville on a five-fight win streak.

“He’s well-rounded. He moves well, very technical, but I will get to my positions and do what I do best,” Storley replied when asked about his opponent. For his own part, Storley, a former Bellator interim champ, has won two straight, but almost certainly has the edge in quality of competition.

Orlando, FL — Welterweight Logan Storley advanced to the PFL World Tournament semifinals on Thursday, in a fight that saw him earn a unanimous decision win over the little-known Joseph Luciano.

Of course, Luciano wasn’t Storley’s original opponent. A high-profile match-up with Magomed Umalatov had been expected, only to be scrapped on weigh-in day when 2024 PFL finalist Umalatov missed weight.

That’s life in MMA, but often those sort of weight misses lead to bouts being cancelled entirely. Not in a grand prix-style tournament, however, where there are alternates at the ready.

“A change of opponent the day before obviously is a little different, but we were prepared to fight anybody. And so I think me and my team did a really good job of going back to the basics, drilling the essentials, and I think you saw it in there tonight,” noted Storley (17-3) following the bout, speaking with media outlets including Cageside Press at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. “Obviously I had a little change of plans the first few seconds in, but I’m happy with the effort. The effort was 100% tonight.”

Storley would later admit to being disappointed at the Umalatov fight falling through, not unlike many fans, who were primed to see a Bellator standout face off with a PFL veteran and tournament finalist.

“I was a little disappointed. I was excited for that fight, I think a lot of people were excited for that fight. I can’t change it, it’s a world tournament, and he missed weight. So it is what it is.” Asked about his familiarity with Luciano, “I didn’t know much about him,” added Storley. “We had about 24 to get ready, and we watched a few fights and kind of went from there, and just went to our game plan and got to our positions.”

Next up for Logan Storley is Masayuki Kikuiri, a Japanese fighter who battered Giannis Bachar to the point that he couldn’t answer the bell for the third round. “I saw a little bit of his fight, but I was worried about my fight at that time,” said Storley when asked about Kikuiri’s performance. He’ll now have some homework to do.

Down the line of course, there’s the possibility of facing American Top Team teammate Jason Jackson in the PFL World Tournament final. Jackson headlined the PFL 1 card on Thursday, submitting ex-Bellator champ Andrey Koreshkov.

Jackson has suggested things might be a little bit awkward in the gym. Storley downplayed that.

“Me and Jason have been training together for a long time. I would say we’re friends, and helped each other get ready for fights. At the end of the day, it’s competition. So like I said before this thing started, there’s two fights before we have to worry about that.” Well, one now, as Storley would point out. “There’s one more fight before I have to worry about that. For me, all I’m worried about is the semifinals, and we’ll go from there.”
