As UFC CEO and President Dana White admitted following UFC Seattle, it was no easy task to choose the Fight Night card’s post-fight bonuses.

Saturday’s event at the Climate Pledge Arena turned out to be a winner, with all six fights on the main card ending in finishes, with three more on the preliminary portion of the event.

That left a number of fighters settling for $25,000 finishing bonuses, while Joe Pyfer and Alexa Grasso earned $100,000 Performance of the Night bonuses.

Pyfer earned a TKO finish of Israel Adesanya, the end coming in the second round. Grasso’s performance stole the night, however, by knocking out Maycee Barber in the co-main event, then jumping on a rear-naked choke. It all happened so fast that the ref was still on the way in, an essentially dazed Barber not even aware of what was happening and wrestling the official’s leg when the choke was released.

It was a knockout in the end, not a submission, as the ref had already made the call to end the fight off the crushing hook that ended it. White was high on the finish in the night’s post-fight press conference. “I think it’s one of the greatest finishes in the sport’s history, let alone this year or tonight or whatever,” he stated.

Later, White admitted that “it was a rough night to pick bonuses, but that’s always a good problem to have.”

Tofiq Musayev, who beat Ignacio Bahamondes on the scorecards in a bloody war that saw Chile’s Bahamondes split open, shared Fight of the Night with his opponent.

All four bonus winners take home $100,000 U.S., while Navajo Stirling, Casey O’Neill, Lance Gibson Jr., Terrance McKinney, Yousri Belgaroui, Lerryan Douglas, and Michael Chiesa all pick up $25,000 finish bonuses.

The UFC Seattle featured preliminary card fight on Saturday found former RIZIN and Bellator lightweight standout Tofiq Musayev taking on Ignacio Bahamondes.

Musayev had faltered in his UFC debut; Chile’s Bahamondes was looking to rebound from a loss to Rafael Fiziev in a fight he had been performing well in up until the finish.

The opening five minutes saw Bahamondes as the aggressor, walking down Musayev behind a solid jab and kicks to the body and head. Musayev loaded up on big counter shots but nothing landed clean. A back and forth first round probably went to Bahamondes due to forward pressure.

That same pressure continued in round two, with Bahamondes landing a big knockdown in the first thirty seconds. Musayev laid flat on his back taking big punishment against the cage, but was able to survive. Musayev was able to land a takedown and opened a massive cut on the head of Bahamondes. Threatening an armbar Bahamondes almost secured a submission win, but he was in bad trouble due to the amount of blood he was losing. Heavy hammerfists from Musayev rained down on Bahmondes in a high paced fight between two finishers.

After doctors took a close look a Bahamondes in between rounds, it was determined he could continue. In the third Bahamondes came out fast but ran into a spinning elbow that forced him to retreat. A left hook followed by a takedown near the fence saw Musayev jump out to an early lead. Musayev was able to stay in top until near the minute mark in the round. Bahamondes reversed position ending up in back control with thirty seconds left. A crazy back and forth contest between two entertaining lightweights left the Seattle fans on their feet.

The judges scored the fight unanimously for Tofiq Musayev who earned his first victory in the UFC with the win. In quite the memorable bloodbath no less.

Official Result: Tofiq Musayev def. Ignacio Bahamondes by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

UFC Baku boasted yet another six-fight main card on Saturday. The other half of the 12 fights were on the undercard which ended up having absolutely no finishes.

UFC Baku was the card of the Contender Series fighter as it seemed like most of the losers on the main card were alumni members of the show. The main event of UFC Baku featured a highly anticipated and much delayed showdown between the former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill, and a former title challenger, Khalil Rountree Jr. Lots of competitive and exciting bouts to make on this edition of losers matchmaker.

Jamahal Hill

Khalil Rountree Jr. dropped Jamahal Hill several times en route to a unanimous decision victory over the former light heavyweight title holder. Jamahal Hill is now on a three-fight losing skid since losing his belt to Alex Pereira in April of last year. Hill entered the fight ranked at #4 in the division while his opponent was ranked at #7.

A fight against Carlos Ulberg, who Hill was matched up against in June of last year, until that fight was cancelled, no longer makes a lot of sense.

However Dominick Reyes would offer a good matchup as the pair share similar lengths, striking styles, and ages.

Reyes is riding a three-fight win streak. Only problem with this matchup is that Reyes last fought in April and it was a first round KO. Reyes is likely looking for a fight right now. So, the timing likely wouldn’t match up unless Reyes would be willing to wait for Hill to heal up. This fight would not only be meaningful but could easily headline a Fight Night card. Guaranteed to be a violent fight as well, with Hill and Reyes both jostling to reestablish their dominance at 205lbs.

Hill’s next fight: Dominick Reyes

Ignacio Bahamondes

Rafael Fiziev dominated Ignacio Bahamondes in all aspects of mixed martial arts on his way to a unanimous decision victory in the co-main event of UFC Baku. Fiziev entered the fight ranked at #11 in the lightweight division while Bahamondes was unranked. Considering the circumstances, maybe it was just a bit too much too soon for the 27-year-old. The loss snapped a three-fight first round bonus-winning streak for Bahamondes. Lots of momentum lost.

Bahamondes has a few options moving forward as the lightweight division is a deep pit of capable fighters. A case could even be made for him to take on Nazim Sadykhov who had an excellent performance earlier on the card. All a matter of how aggressive he/the UFC brass would like to be. A good matchup to kind of regain his footing would be against the winner Chase Hooper vs Alexander Hernandez. Unfortunately, the timing wouldn’t be the greatest for that fight as it’s taking place at UFC 319 on August 16. If Ignacio can swing being on the shelf for a little while, this is the fight to make. 25-year-old Chase Hooper is riding a five-fight win streak including three finishes. Hernandez is coming off of winning two straight. That’s a big fight-especially for Chase.

If there is a big statement made in that fight on the 16th then a fight against a guy like Ignancio, who just tried to break into the rankings, could make sense. This fight could be a co-main event on a Fight Night card or high on the undercard of a PPV. Winner of that would obviously fight for a ranking.

Bahamondes’s next fight: Winner of Chase Hooper vs Alexander Hernandez

Rizvan Kuniev

Curtis Blaydes leaned heavily on his grappling and grit to win a razor-close split decision against Rizvan Kuniev on Saturday. It was quite the UFC debut for Rizvan Kuniev, a two-time Contender Series winner. Blaydes is currently ranked at #5 in the UFC’s heavyweight division, so it was undoubtedly an impressive showing for the unranked and debuting Kuniev. Who definitely had his moments in the fight.

Serghei Spivac would be a good fighter for Kuniev to face next. Serghei is ranked at #9 in the heavyweight division. Spivac last fought at UFC 316 earlier in the month losing a unanimous decision to now #7 ranked, Waldo Cortes-Acosta. Spivac has lost three of his last four fights. This would be an interesting middle of the pack fighter to test the newcomer against. Kuniev showed on Saturday that while he has capable grappling, he is also a threat on the feet. A matchup against Spivac would give Kuniev another opportunity to display that- as it’s what you need to be successful in today’s heavyweight division.

Kuniev’s next fight: Serghei Spivac

Tofiq Musayev

Myktybek Orolabi came out with a vicious pace and got the submission finish in the first round against the experienced newcomer in, Tofiq Musayev, at UFC Baku. An eight-fight veteran of the RIZIN promotion, Tofiq defeated Patricky Pitbull in 2019 to win the RIZIN lightweight grand prix.

Even at 35 years old, and despite the outcome of his debut, Tofiq needs to be given competitive matchups because of his history and record (22-6). A solid litmus test could be a matchup against Uros Medic. Uros is 4-3 with the UFC since coming off the Contender Series in 2020. Medic has lost two of his last three and had a fight against Khaos Willimas cancelled on June 7. The timing could work on this as Khaos went ahead and fought on the 7th. Medic was also submitted by Orolbai in the second round of their bout in 2023. Uros is a very fun striker that has never heard the final bell, win or lose, in any of his pro MMA fights. This would be a fun one for fans, and good to establish a little bit of UFC clout in an extremely crowded division.

Musayev’s next fight: Uros Medic

Nikolas Motta

Nikolas Motta and Nazim Sadykhov put on an exciting back and forth fight that ended with Motta getting folded on Saturday. The bout won all the bonus money for UFC Baku. Motta is now 3-3, 1 NC within the UFC since being signed off the Contender Series in 2020.

Let’s keep the good times rolling with Motta and give him another fun matchup. He will undoubtedly need some time to recover after that fight, so timing is of the essence for this matchup. The winner of Terrance McKinney vs Viacheslav Borschev could be a solid option. Those two are scheduled to complete on June 28 at UFC 317, so that’s one box checked (timing). McKinney is 6-4 with the UFC, a Contender Series alum, and has won two of his last three. Win or lose, McKinney has never heard the final horn sound for the duration of his UFC career. Borshchev is 3-4-1 in the UFC and an alumnus of the Contender Series. Viacheslav has lost two of his last three but always bring a high action, high output fight style.

No matter who wins here, the fight against Motta is an easy potential fight of the night. Could be on the main card of a fight night card as well.

Motta’s next fight: Winner of Terrance McKinney vs. Viacheslav Borshchev

Bogdan Grad

Bogdan Grad fell to Muhammad Naimov by way of unanimous decision to kick off the main card of UFC Baku, Saturday. Grad is a two-time Contender Series competitor that made his UFC debut in February of this year with a bonus-winning finish over Lucas Alexander. Grad is now 1-1 with the promotion.

A good matchup for Grad would be against the loser of Danny Silva vs Kevin Vallejos. That fight goes down on August 2 so the timing wouldn’t be too bad. Silva is also a former Contender Series competitor that has gone 2-0 within the UFC. Danny was last in action on March 1 with his split decision win over Lucas Almedia. Kevin is also a two-time Contender Series competitor and won his UFC debut in March with his first-round stoppage of Seung Woo Choi. Whoever loses this bout will have their first UFC loss just like Grad as well as having a similar path and timeline. Makes sense to pair them up.

Grad’s next fight: Loser of Danny Silva vs Kevin Vallejos

The post What’s Next: UFC Baku Losers appeared first on Cageside Press.

Two of the more exciting strikers in the UFC lightweight division squared off at UFC Baku on Saturday as Rafael Fiziev and Ignacio Bahamondes scrapped in co-main event.

#11 Fiziev (12-4) takes the co-main event slot in his father’s home country of Azerbaijan in the UFC’s first event there. After putting together an impressive 6-fight win streak with victories over the likes of Rafael dos Anjos, Brad Riddell, King Green and Renato Moicano his luck has soured.

He came into the Bahamondes fight on 3-fight skid with losses to Justin Gaethje and Mateusz Gamrot. The losses aren’t terrible with both Gaethje and Gamrot considered title contenders, but a loss to the up-and-coming Bahamondes would certainly bruise those title hopes.

Bahamondes (17-5) has put together a solid 6-2 record in the UFC and came into the bout on a three-fight win streak. An impressive submission victory over Jalin Turner at UFC 313 scored him the Fiziev fight in the co-main event at UFC Baku.

Round 1 Bahamondes worked to use that front kick to the lead leg to keep Fiziev at bay. Early on Bahamondes had trouble getting the range with Fiziev using kicks and rushing him a bit.

Near the 2 minute mark Bahamondes finally attacked causing a furious exchange where Fiziev landed most of the damage to the body. Both men changed stances repeatedly looking for an advantage.

Coming to the end of the round Bahamondes landed a spinning side kick to the body, Fiziev a right hand and Bahamondes tried an axe kick before time ran out.

Round 2 Bahamondes came out using his length with kicks and 1-2s. Then shot in for a takedown but Fiziev has solid takedown defense. Nothing came of it besides some fun elbows fired up by Bahamondes.

Another takedown attempt for Bahamondes produced nothing. Bahamondes got busy with the flashy spinning kick attacks which Fiziev avoided like he was in The Matrix. Fiziev worked some combos one which was countered by Bahamondes landing a head kick.

Fiziev had enough and flew in for a takedown and got it. Got back to his feet and worked some kicks to the legs before shooting and scoring a takedown again. Bahamondes seemed to grab a guillotine position but he quickly lost it.

The round ended with Fiziev dropping Bahamondes with a right hand at the horn.

Round 3 Bahamondes came out with the urgency firing off combinations and putting pressure on Fiziev. This entire fight Fiziev waited for Bahamondes to make a move and then countered which hasn’t worked well for his opponent.

Bahamondes put himself in danger to land and it began to pay off near the 3 minute mark landing two clean 1-2 combinations on Fiziev. Bahamondes shot in for a takedown, pulled guard instead, Fiziev didn’t comply. When Bahamondes stood up Fiziev fired off a nasty combo on him.

Bahamondes clinched Fiziev, pushed him to the fence looking for a takedown, but again just couldn’t get it. With Fiziev likely up 2-0 the time for wrestling may have already come and gone.

Fiziev had enough of the flurries and shot in for an easy takedown. The fight ended there on the ground.

Official Result: Rafael Fiziev def. Ignacio Bahamondes via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

“Being in the octagon with Rafael Fiziev is an honor for me. I’ve been watching him since he got into the UFC. I’m a striker too so I always like to see strikers doing their thing,” Bahamondes told reporters on Wednesday.

“It’s a great honor and it means a lot to me. The UFC is seeing I’m ready for it and I love it.”

Bahamondes (17-5) couldn’t wait to accept the matchup against a fellow high-level striker. The expectation of a firefight between the two is shared by fans everywhere.

“I’m a striker, he’s a striker, we are really explosive. I think we’re going to stand and bang in the middle of the octagon,” he said.

“That’s what the people want to see and that’s what we’re going to give to them.”

Fiziev has shown the ability to wrestle in his fights. Should he feel overwhelmed standing with Bahamondes it’s possible he’ll shoot for takedowns.

It might not be the wisest move.

“I’m going to stand and bang in the middle of the octagon,” said Bahamondes.

“If he decides to take me down it’s going to be his end.”

The UFC’s debut in Baku, Azerbaijan on June 21, 2025 has its co-main event set.

As announced by the promotion, lightweight Rafael Fiziev (12-4) will take on Ignacio Bahamondes (17-5) in the Fight Night event’s co-headliner.

Fiziev enters the bout off a loss in a rematch with Justin Gaethje, but remains ranked #11 in the promotion’s 155lb division. The fight against Gaethje ended an extended layoff for Fiziev, who will be the hometown favorite as he hails from Azerbaijan.

While Fiziev has lost three straight fights, two of those losses came against Gaethje, while the third saw “Ataman” fall to a knee injury against Mateusz Gamrot.

Ignacio Bahamondes, from Chile, has quickly become a fan favorite thanks to his action-packed style. He’s won three straight, earned finishes in each of those wins, and picked up Performance of the Night bonuses in each case as well.

A graduate of Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2020, Bahamondes is 6-2 in the UFC overall.

UFC Baku takes place at the Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan on June 21, 2025. The card is headlined by former light heavyweight champ Jamahal Hill taking on recent title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr. The following match-ups have been reported for the event:

Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr.

Rafael Fiziev vs. Ignacio Bahamondes

Nazim Sadykhov vs. Nikolas Motta

Tagir Ulanbekov vs. Kyoji Horiguchi

Irina Alekseeva vs. Klaudia Syguła

Melissa Mullins vs. Dariya Zheleznyakova

After some withdrawals in the weeks prior, most notably from Dan Hooker in the co-main event, and losing multiple bouts on fight day, there’s no denying UFC 313 took some hits. However, between some controversial decisions, slick submissions, and a ‘KO of the Year’ contender, the UFC’s annual Pay-Per-View trip to the fight capital of the world still ended up delivering a good chunk of drama. It’s now to do some matchmaking for our new champion and other standout winners from the main card.

Magomed Ankalaev

It may not have been the most thrilling affair, but following UFC 313, Magomed Ankalaev is your new light-heavyweight champion. For years he was seen by many as the best 205er in the UFC and, though it took him two cracks at it, he can finally say he fulfilled his potential.

Not to take the spotlight away from the Russian, but the aftermath of this fight was always largely predicated on what Alex Pereira will want to do next. If Poatan wants to stay at 205 lbs, then the rematch books itself. He’s the promotion’s biggest active star and nearly half the media members on mmadecisions.com scored the bout for him. He’s been fighting at a crazy rate, so maybe he takes more than a couple months off and rematches Ankalaev in Abu Dhabi in October.

If Pereira opts to make the move to heavyweight, then Ankalaev’s most likely option is probably Jiri Prochazka. I doubt the UFC will rush to book a Jan Blachowicz rematch should he get his hand raised in two weeks, but Carlos Ulberg would be a fresh name to add to that mix. Jamahal Hill vs Khalil Rountree Jr. should be a treat, but both are coming off knockout losses. Ulberg may steal it with a stellar performance, but as it stands, I would think Prochazka is the frontrunner.

Ankalaev’s next fight: Pereira rematch or Jiri Prochazka

Justin Gaethje

There was very little to win for Gaethje by taking this short notice change of opponent in the UFC 313 co-headliner. He had already beaten Fiziev and the Hooker fight was garnering much more attention. Being the bad man that he is, Gaethje still signed on the dotted line and got the job done once again.

You could come up with any permutation between everyone ranked 1st to 6th at lightweight and have a realistic shot at correctly predicting the future. Re-book the Hooker fight? Sure. Title shot? After all, Gaethje hasn’t faced Islam Makhachev yet and he was supposed to be next in line this time last year before booking the BMF title fight at UFC 300… Welcoming Ilia Topuria to 155 lbs? Take my money. What about a Dustin Poirier trilogy in New Orleans this summer? Nobody would turn that down.

Trying to figure out how this will all play out gets extra difficult when you remember Arman Tsarukyan, Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway are also all entitled to big fights next. Personally, I would’ve gone with the Poirier trilogy. That’s the fight I wanted even before the Hooker fight was booked. Their first fight was in Gaethje’s backyard in Arizona, so completing that storyline in New Orleans would make for a perfect send off fight for ‘The Diamond.’

Unfortunately, Gaethje has voiced his disinterest in wanting to face Poirier a third time, saying that he’s satisfied with being 1-1. Additionally, Beneil Dariush recently revealed that he’s hearing Poirier might be fighting Max Holloway this summer. Taking this into account, the most likely way this ends is with a re-booking of the Hooker fight some time in the summer, once Hooker’s hand is healed.

Gaethje’s next fight: Dan Hooker

Ignacio Bahamondes

The 27-year-old Bahamondes seems to have turned a corner as he followed up his first-round KO win at the Sphere with the biggest win of his career over Jalin Turner. The grappling advantage presumably would’ve gone to ‘The Tarantula’, but it was Bahamondes who locked in a beautiful triangle choke to force the tap just 2:29 into round 1.

This win will see Bahamondes enter the rankings and with three consecutive first-round finishes, who’s to say the UFC won’t try to push him further up the ladder? However, in my opinion, this division is too stacked to fast track anyone at the moment. Fellow 27-year-old Fares Ziam, winner of five straight, has also earned his shot at a ranking. This could serve as a good feature bout, or even co-main event, at a Paris fight night card in September.

Bahamondes just defeated one tall, lanky lightweight. Can he do it again?

Bahamondes’ next fight: Fares Ziam

Amanda Lemos

The veteran Lemos didn’t turn heads with her performance at UFC 313, but she did just defeat someone 14 years her junior. This was the classic type of booking where the young up-and-comer is supposed to take out the older generation, but this time the veteran held her ground.

Lemos is 37, has lost to two of the women ranked in front of her, and has already had her title shot, in which she got dominated. There’s no real incentive for the UFC to push her forward, especially not after this boring performance. With Zhang Weili almost certainly moving up to fight for the flyweight title, you must think that the winner of Yan Xiaonan vs Virna Jandiroba will be part of a vacant title fight. If Yan loses, then she can fight Lemos. If Virna loses, you can’t book her against Lemos when she just submitted her last summer. Should Virna lose and Gillian Robertson defeat Marina Rodriguez in May, then Lemos and Robertson makes sense. If both Virna and Gillian lose, then maybe Lemos can face Tabatha Ricci as that seems to be one of the few names she hasn’t faced yet. Lots of way this could play out depending on upcoming results.

Lemos’ next fight: Yan Xiaonan, Gillian Robertson or Tabatha Ricci

Mauricio Ruffy

These Fighting Nerds simply cannot stop producing highlight reel finishes. Just two weeks ago it was Jean Silva who blasted Melsik Baghdasaryan and now Ruffy just face planted King Green in what should be a serious contender for ‘KO of the Year’ once we get to December. The man they call ‘One Shot’ just one-shotted the wily veteran with a gorgeous wheel kick barely two minutes into round one in their UFC 313 main card opener.

This was his best win yet and it moves him to 3-0 in the promotion. Getting a KO like that can put fighters in the position to call their shot, and Ruffy certainly tried. He called for a main event fight with Beneil Dariush next. While I don’t hate that option for him, I would try to capitalize on this Fighting Nerds movement and try to get Ruffy an even bigger name. The next time we will see some action from that gym is at UFC 314 and the co-main event from that card is Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett. I think Ruffy should face the loser of that bout. No matter who it is, it will be a name that the casual fans will recognize and give Ruffy and nice opportunity to boost his profile.

Ruffy’s next fight: Chandler/Pimblett loser

Then it came true.

“Honestly, I don’t know what’s happening. I’m kind of getting scared. I don’t know, maybe I got super powers,” Bahamondes joked with reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum.

“I can see the future or something. I dream about this like a month ago, and I don’t know. I’m kind of getting scared.”

Bahamondes (17-5) did in fact submit Turner on Saturday night, but he didn’t think it’d be by triangle choke.

“Not really (a triangle), but it was a submission,” that Bahamondes pulled off in his dream.

“We got like an exchange, then we went to the floor, and then I got him in a submission and I submit him. Then I wake up and said oh I guess that’s how I’m going to win.”

Turner announced his retirement just minutes after losing the fight with Bahamondes which didn’t sit well with the winner. He felt compassion for his opponent, and hopes he doesn’t actually call it a career.

“Yeah I told him don’t do that. Don’t do that, come on, if you need help, if you need something, I’m here,” he said.

“If you need to come to Chicago and train so just to love it again I told him he could stay in my house. No problem. I’m open to help him, our team is open to help him. I just told him to go back home, just think about it, but please don’t do it. He pushed me to my best and make me so better. He’s still got a lot more to give to this sport.”

It’s not quite 14 for 14, but at UFC 313, Justin Gaethje earned his 14th post-fight bonus in fourteen fights with the promotion.

Gaethje and fellow lightweight co-headliner Rafael Fiziev battled it out for three rounds, with “The Highlight” landing a knockdown mid-fight. While he couldn’t put Fiziev away in the pair’s rematch (Justin also won their first encounter, in 2023), Gaethje came away with a unanimous decision victory after an explosive 15 minutes, and a Fight of the Night bonus.

UFC President and CEO Dana White announced the news during Saturday’s UFC 313 post-fight press conference, with Cageside Press on hand. Total gate was announced as $10.1 million U.S, care of a sold out attendance of 18,869.

For Gaethje, Saturday’s bonus is as mentioned his 14th under the promotional banner. That’s actually spread across 12 fights, with the former BMF champ having doubled up on bonuses twice- against Michael Johnson in 2017, Gaethje’s UFC debut, and Tony Ferguson in 2020. He did not earn bonuses in his fights with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira.

Performance of the Night bonuses at UFC 313 were awarded to Ignacio Bahamondes and Mauricio Ruffy. Brazil’s Ruffy absolutely floored King Green (formerly Bobby Green), who was left face down, out cold care of a spinning wheel kick. As for Bahamondes, he caught Jalin Turner in an opening-round triangle choke. Turner appeared to announce his retirement after the fight, but was possibly walked back by his team.

Skyscraper lightweights went to battle at UFC 313 on Saturday night as Jalin Turner and Ignacio Bahamondes put a show on for the fans in Las Vegas.

Turner (14-8) had an opponent be able to look at him in the eyes for the first time in a long time at UFC 313. The 6’3 155er arrived in Las Vegas off a tough loss to Renato Moicano at UFC 300 last April. Having had a tough run as of recent following an impressive 4-fight win streak he hoped to get back to winning at UFC 313.

Bahamondes (16-5) was more than excited to get Turner as an opponent having called him out before. The also 6’3 lightweight brought his two-fight win streak to UFC 313 with finishes over Christo Giagos and most recently Manuel Torres at Noche UFC.

Round 1 both Turner and Bahamondes came out ready to go. Bahamondes attacked with leg kicks, which Turner clearly expected, as he countered many of them perfectly with strikes up top.

They clinched, but Bahamondes used it to drag Turner down on top of him. After a minute or so of grappling he snatched a beautiful triangle choke and forced the tap.

Bahamondes is the new hot name at 155 pounds while Turner now has to figure out where this loss leaves him in the division.

Official Result: Ignacio Bahamondes def. Jalin Turner via R1 SUB (Triangle), 2:29
