Ontario, Canada — Just less than one year ago, it was uncommon, or better yet unheard of, that a local gym would promote and host a grappling, quintet event. Things have since changed, and in a short period of time, Para Bellum MMA, who debuted their Quintet show with a sellout, will bring forth yet another sold-out event this Friday in Oakville, Ontario.

Rory McDonell (co-owner of Para Bellum MMA) spoke with Sasha Moks at the first Quintet event earlier this year, where he says an injury led to his “brain child,” and the first time an all no gi event would take place in the province. After great success and high demand for more, there’s no plan on stopping now.

At Para Bellum’s Quintet 2 event, in the co-main event, Straight Blast Gym Niagara and Body of Four will go head-to-head in a purple belt quintet match. In the main-event, it’s 10th Planet Montreal vs. Nova Uniao Toronto in a black belt quintet match.

The card also features super-fight matches between Gregg King vs. Lyndon Whitlock, Thiago Bastos vs. Peter Fazekas and more on the main card and preliminaries.
