The Fanmio-backed event, also airing via UFC Fight Pass and DAZN, had a relatively stacked undercard as such things go, with Shane Mosley Jr. facing Daniel Jacobs, and former UFC champ Anthony Pettis taking on Chris Avila, a longtime associate of Diaz.

The card had been bumped back to the July 6 date, likely to avoid going head-to-head with bigger combat sports offerings; on its new date, it essentially had the night to itself.

The MMA star and soon-to-be professional boxer was filmed on the streets of New Orleans choking a man unconscious following the Misfits 6 card in which teammate Chris Avila fought in.

In the video you can see Diaz catching a man in what looks like a ninja choke, hitting him with a knee, and putting him to sleep on the street. The man seems to bounce his head off the street and laying unconscious.

That incident followed another one inside the arena where Diaz threw a water bottle at reality tv star Chase DeMoor. DeMoor had fought earlier in the night and could be heard, in the video, yelling at the ring.

Diaz hears him, grabs the bottle, and throws it sparking a scuffle that lasted a couple minutes. Diaz and DeMoor never came together as security was on them rather quickly.

The reactions have been flooding in from Diaz’s rival Conor McGregor tweeting about it to YouTuber Adin Ross posting a video of himself showing UFC president Dana White the video and getting his reaction to it.

This comes as Diaz prepares to fight Jake Paul in Dallas, TX on Aug 6.

The last time we saw Diaz in action was at UFC 279 where he defeated Tony Ferguson via submission in the main event. Diaz’s contract with the UFC was up after that and the Stockton native left the promotion.

Silva will enter the ring for the fourth time since wrapping up his MMA career (for now, anyway). At age 47, he’ll have over two decades of experience over the 25-year old Paul, who will for his part likely have an edge in speed and power.

Also featured on Saturday’s card, the man who retired Silva from the UFC, Uriah Hall, was paired up with NFL veteran Le’Veon Bell.

Fighters such as Adrian “Suavecito” Rodriguez and Danny Barrios Flores worked out for the crowd early on in the day. Both Rodriguez and Flores, who aren’t fighting each other, worked out for about 20 minutes.

Then came Chris Avila, a teammate of Nate Diaz and member of the Nick Diaz Academy team, to workout for the crowd.

Finally the headliners showed up with former UFC middleweight champion and MMA legend Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva entering the ring. Silva showed off his speed, footwork and more while moving around and hitting pads.

Jake Paul’s fighting career has always featured a weird mix of fights on the undercard. Whether it’s YouTubers, MMA fighters, or actual boxers seemingly everyone has been given a crack on these cards. Now as we’re getting closer to Paul’s fight against Tommy Fury in December, we’re getting a look at who’s going to be on the undercard.

First confirmed by Ariel Helwani and later Taylor himself on social media, one of the undercard bouts will be at 168 pounds as Anthony Taylor takes on Chris Avila. The two previously fought back at Bellator 238 with Taylor picking up a majority decision win at the event. This time they’ll be fighting in the ring, for eight rounds.

For Taylor it’ll be his fifth boxing match; he was previously on the undercard of Paul/Woodley, where he went the distance with Tommy Fury. Since then, he’s picked up wins against regional competition to get another shot on Showtime.

Avila on the other hand has much less boxing experience, having only strapped on the gloves once. Losing a decision in 2014 to Vincente Guzman, however, the Diaz teammate is currently on a two-fight win streak inside of the cage.

The other bout is more of the freakshow variety, as former NBA All-Star Deron Williams officially confirmed for the undercard. Williams is actually part owner of the camp Fortis MMA and has apparently trained in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing for quite a while.

While there is no official opponent yet for Williams, one of the leading candidates is former NFL pro-bowler, Frank Gore. Gore, who is third all-time in rushing yards for the NFL retired earlier this year while announcing his intentions that he was looking to enter the ring sometime before the end of the year.
