The KSW welterweight championship was on the line at Saturday’s KSW 105 in Gliwice, Poland – but that was arguably far from the biggest fight on the card.

In terms of accolades and card placement, the rematch between Adrian Bartosiński and Andrzej Grzebyk took precedence, but the bulk of the star power, and literal bulk, went to super heavyweights Mariusz Pudzianowski and Eddie Hall.

“Pudzian” was long the biggest star in KSW, and despite competing less frequently in his 40s, remains an attraction for the Polish promotion. Hall, a fellow World’s Strongest Man winner, was making his MMA debut after falling short in boxing against Hafthor Júlíus Björnsson, another strongman who starred as The Mountain on Game of Thrones.

Also in the mix on Saturday was UFC and Bellator veteran Augusto Sakai, a Brazilian heavyweight looking to bounce back from a title fight loss to Phil De Fries.

Patricio Pitbull tried it and came up short. Conor McGregor never even attempted it, neither in the UFC nor Cage Warriors. On Saturday at KSW 89, however, it was Salahdine Parnasse’s turn to try for a third simultaneous world title.

Already owner of KSW’s featherweight and lightweight titles, the double-champ was looking for a third crown when he took on Adrian Bartosinski at welterweight. Long one of the brightest prospects outside the major promotions, and third title for Parnasse would cement his star status.

The KSW 89 card in Gliwice, Poland was more than a one-trick pony however. In addition to the massive main event, middleweight champ Pawel Pawlak put his belt on the line against promotional legend Michal Materla. Marcin Held, meanwhile, a former Bellator MMA, PFL, and UFC star, was set to make his promotional debut against Rauli Tutarauli. Fighting since his teens, it was almost a shock to learn that Held, from Poland, had never fought for the country’s largest MMA promotion.

Also in action, another UFC alum, Viktor Pesta, in a heavyweight match-up with Szymon Najor.

KSW featherweight and lightweight champion Salahdine Parnasse will look to become MMA’s first three-division champ this December.

On Monday, promotion officials announced that Parnasse (18-1) will face undefeated welterweight champion Adrian Bartosinski (14-0) at KSW 89 on December 16, 2023. The event is expected to take place in Gliwice, Poland.

No fighter has ever held three titles simultaneously, or at all, in a major promotion. Former Bellator lightweight champion and current featherweight king Patricio Pitbull was the last to attempt the feat, coming up short against Sergio Pettis in a shot at bantamweight gold earlier this year.

Parnasse, long heralded as one of the top prospects in the sport, first won gold under the KSW banner in 2019, picking up an interim featherweight championship. Later promoted to undisputed champ status, he lost his title to Daniel Torres in January of 2021, but reclaimed the belt later that year, avenging his lone loss in the process.

Last year, Parnasse claimed an interim lightweight title by defeating Sebastian Rajewski, who stepped in to replace undisputed champ Marian Ziółkowski in the fight. A planned title unification bout this past June fell through on the night of the event, meanwhile, after Ziółkowski injured himself during his warm-up. Parnasse was again promoted to undisputed champ status.

In August, the French star successfully defended his featherweight title against Robert Ruchała.

KSW welterweight champion Adrian Bartosinski captured the then-vacant 170lb title in a showdown with Artur Szczepaniak this past April. His fight with Parnasse marks Bartosinski’s first attempted title defense.

Poland’s KSW was in action on Saturday, with the promotion’s vacant 170lb title on the line in the main event of KSW 81.

The undefeated Adrian Bartosinski, a perfect 13-0 to start the night, threw down in that welterweight headliner with Artur Szczepaniak, a fellow Polish standout with just a single loss on his professional record.

The KSW welterweight championship was most recently held by Roberto Soldic, who departed the promotion and jumped to ONE Championship last year. Previously, UFC standout Dricus Du Plessis, currently competing as a middleweight, also held the title.

In the co-main event of KSW 81, heavyweight action saw kickboxer Errol Zimmerman taking on Tomasz Sarara. While Zimmerman had competed under the promotional banner last year, the bout was a “special rules” contest still firmly on the striking side of things. The fight with Sarara, however, would be Zimmerman’s first MMA action since 2008.

KSW 81 takes place on Saturday, April 22, 2023, airing via KSWTV.com. Full results can be found below.

The vacant welterweight championship will be up for grabs in the main event of KSW 81 next month.

On Wednesday, promotion officials announced via press release that undefeated standout Adrian Bartosinski (13-0) will face Artur Szczepaniak (9-1) atop the card on April 22. The show takes place at the Arena Lodowa in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland.

Adrian Bartosinski joined KSW in 2021 by winning all of his bouts on reality TV show ‘Only One.’ An injury took him out of the show’s finale; he instead jumped straight to KSW and has finished all four of his fights to date.

Impressively, “Bartos” has not gone to a decision since 2018, and has won 11 of his 13 fights inside the distance. In his four KSW fights, he has less than 15 minutes of cage time.

Artur Szczepaniak has just a single loss in his pro career, against current UFC fighter Benoit Saint-Denis. Like Bartosinski, he’s a finisher, having earned stoppages in his last six fights — including his two bouts under the KSW promotional banner. In his last outing, Szczepaniak stopped Dutch striker Brian Hooi inside of a round, taking all of 43 seconds to land a head kick then finish with strikes.

Also announced on Wednesday, Tomasz Sarara (1-1) and Dutch kickboxer Errol Zimmerman (0-1) will meet at KSW 81 in a heavyweight showdown between two talented strikers.

KSW 59: Fight Code is going down this Saturday. Before the fights take place, let’s take a closer look at a trio of bouts that have the Fight of the Night written all over them.

The event goes down in Lodz, Poland, kicking off at 2PM ET. Topping the big night of fights is a heavyweight tilt that features the 44-year old Mariusz Pudzianowski against the unbeaten fighter from Senegal named Serigne Ousmane Dia — better known, perhaps, as “Bombardier.” The massive super heavyweight weighed in for the main event at 333lbs. However, the first fight that is going under the radar is the curtain opener at less than half that weight, at 145lbs.

With a plethora of new blood added to the Polish promotion, it couldn’t be a more exciting time for fights considering parts of the world are starting to loosen Coronavirus restrictions.

New blood! 👊 Whose KSW debut are you most looking forward to this weekend!? 🤩#KSW59

🇷🇸 @DarkoStosic92 (13-4)
🇩🇪 Konrad Dyrschka (11-1)
🇵🇱 Adrian Bartosinki (9-0)
🇪🇸 Lionel Padilla (8-1)
🇵🇱 Cyprian Wieczorek (0-0)
🇵🇱 Patryk Likus (0-0) pic.twitter.com/acPP4rFtLr

— KSW (@KSW_MMA) March 16, 2021

Cyprian Wieczorek vs. Patryk Likus – KSW Fire Starter

Despite coming off one loss, Wieczorek is an imposing force inside the cage. Overall, the featherweight fighting out of Team UKS Ronin has built a brilliant amateur record. With thirty-five wins and three losses, it’s amazing that the Polish-born fighter hasn’t already competed in more professional fights. Despite coming in with an extensive amateur background, his opponent is a promotional newcomer. Since Likus only has one professional win, he definitely lacks the mountains of cage time that Wieczorek has. Although on Saturday, all of that will be put aside and the two will determine who is the more proficient fighter.

Lionel Padilla vs. Adrian. Bartosiński

With only one loss on his record, Padilla has been running through his competition. Prior to his pairing with Bartosiński, Spain’s Padilla has been on a roll as well. After enduring a speed bump against Max Duarte, Padilla rattled off four consecutive wins. Not only that, but three of them ended in a painful finish (2 TKOs, 1 Sub). On the other hand, Bartosiński is one of the hotter prospects in Poland right now, with an unbeaten record of 9-0. The 25-year old appears to be just getting started on his road to the top.

#KSW59 Official weighin:

✅ Adrian Bartosiński – 77.6 kg/171 lb
✅ Lionel Padilla – 77.4 kg/171 lb

— KSW (@KSW_MMA) March 19, 2021

Since Bartosiński is sporting a nine-fight win streak, it’s hard to imagine the athlete losing after not tasting defeat in over four years. Granted, while Bartosiński has notched five knockouts in his fighting tenure, his opponent has had more success on the ground. Styles will clash in this one.

Konrad Dyrschka vs. Łukasz Rajewski

Rajewski has a kickboxing base but is a fully developed martial artist with fight-ending power and submissions on his record. On a two-fight win streak, the 31-year old showed he was ready for the next step after taking out Bartłomiej Kopera at KSW 54: Gamrot vs. Ziółkowski. Despite having the result go to a split decision in Rajewski’s favor, it was still a great showing of technique and stamina.

Conversely, German-born Dyrschka has just one loss within the promotion at this point and intends to keep it that way at KSW 59.
