The PFL kicks off its 2026 in Dubai, with two title fights headlining the big PFL: Road to Dubai card on Saturday.

Usman Nurmagomedov moves on from his series with Paul Hughes in the main event, when the lightweight champ takes on World Tournament winner and Bellator alum Alfie Davis. In the co-main, a pair of welterweights face off for gold when Ramazan Kuramagomedov takes on Shamil Musaev.

However, with Ditcheva out of the fight, Antonia Silvaneide stepped up – and was the lone fighter to miss weight at Friday’s official weigh-in. She hit the scales at 127lbs, one pound over the non-title flyweight limit.

The PFL’s “Lazy King” has a new opponent for his first fight in over a year.

Abdoul Abdouraguimov (19-1) was originally booked opposite Magomed Umalatov at next month’s PFL: Road to Dubai card on February 7. However, with Umalatov out of the fight, Kendly St. Louis (11-5) has instead stepped up to accept the fight.

That’s a considerable downgrade in opponents, with Umalatov himself being 18-1 and one of the promotion’s more storied welterweights. Understandable, however, given the short-notice nature of the change, which comes just over two weeks out from the event.

PFL officials announced the switch on Tuesday.

Abdouraguimov is a former two-division ARES FC champion who was a hot free agent a couple of years back. The PFL managed to snap up his services, apparently out from under the nose of the UFC, with the “Lazy King” making an immediate splash by winning his first three fights inside the promotion’s SmartCage. However, a contract dispute led to a fight with Kevin Jusset falling through last September, and as a result Abdouraguimov did not fight at all in 2025.

Kendly St. Louis, a two-time veteran of the dormant PFL Challenger Series, competed twice for the promotion in 2025, going 1-1 in the process. St. Louis went 4-0 under the CFFC banner prior to jumping to the PFL.

PFL: Road to Dubai takes place on February 7, 2026 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE. The card is headlined by a lightweight title fight between champ Usman Nurmagomedov and PFL World Tournament winner Alfie Davis.

After previously being announced as headlining the event, Abdoul Abdouraguimov now has an opponent for PFL Europe Nantes.

The card, which takes place on September 26, 2025 in Nantes, France, will see Abdouraguimov (19-1, 1NC) paired up with UFC veteran Kevin Jousset (10-4).

Promotion officials announced the news via press release on Thursday.

Known as “The Lazy King,” signing Abdouraguimov was a coup de gras by the PFL, snatching a coveted free agent away from the UFC and no doubt other promotions who had their eye on him. Prior to joining the PFL, Abdoul Abdouraguimov competed for ARES FC, winning that promotion’s welterweight and middleweight titles.

Under the PFL banner, he’s notched victories over Brad Wheeler, Bellator alum Jack Grant, and former UFC fighter Laureano Staropoli.

Jousset went 2-2 across four fights with the UFC, but was shown the door following back-to-back losses, the most recent of which came in February of this year. That fight saw Jousset lose a decision to Jonathan Micallef.

PFL Europe Nantes takes place on Sept. 26 at the Zenith Nantes Metropole in Nantes, France. The following match-ups have been reported for the card:

Abdoul Abdouraguimov vs. Kevin Jousset

Mahio Campanella vs. Gustavo Oliveira

Connor Hughes vs. Gino van Steenis

Dean Garnett vs. Jan Ciepłowski

Claudio Pacella vs. Aleksandr Chizov

PFL Europe will head to Nantes, France on September 26, with the “Lazy King” returning home for the fight.

The aforementioned “King,” Abdoul Abdouraguimov, hails from Nantes, and will headline the card while seeking out his 10th consecutive victory. Promotion officials announced the event via press release on Monday. No opponent has been named for Abdouraguimov (19-1, 1NC), who claimed championships at both welterweight and middleweight for ARES FC.

Abdouraguimov made his debut for the PFL in 2023 and has gone 3-0 under the promotion’s banner. His most recent action came in December, where he earned a win over UFC veteran Laureano Staropoli. While the fight went the distance, the “Lazy King” came away with a unanimous decision victory, after entering as a massive -1200 favorite.

Of note, Abdouraguimov, born in Russia, has never before fought in his adopted home of Nantes. France only legalized MMA roughly five years ago, with Bellator MMA being the first major promotion to run a show in the nation. The UFC made their debut in the country in Paris, France in 2022.

The PFL Europe lightweight and bantamweight tournament semifinals will also take place at PFL Europe Nantes.

“This is our third new city in as many events for PFL Europe in 2025, and I’ve heard special things about Nantes. When we have a star on our hands like Lazy King, it makes sense to bring him to his home crowd for the first time in his career,” PFL CEO Peter Murray was quoted as saying in Monday’s press release.

Taking place at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France, the aforementioned “Lazy King” Abdoul Abdouraguimov will face off against Argentinian UFC veteran Laureano Staropoli in a welterweight main event.

The PFL Europe Welterweight, Lightweight, Bantamweight and Women’s Flyweight tournaments will also conclude, with champions crowned in each division.

Abdouraguimov (18-1) was a massive free agent signing for the promotion last year, with the PFL scooping up the former ARES welterweight and middleweight champ out from under the UFC’s nose. He’s 2-0 inside the PFL SmartCage to date, and is coming off a split decision win over Jack Grant.

Staropoli (13-6), with the UFC from 2018 to 2021, also plied his trade in ARES FC, and made his PFL debut earlier this year. He was submitted by Murad Ramazanov at this year’s PFL 3 card.

The following bouts have been announced for December 14, 2024’s PFL Europe Championship card:

Abdoul “Lazy King” Abdouraguimov vs. Laureano Staropoli

Connor Hughes vs. Jakub Kaszuba – PFL Europe Lightweight Championship

Lewis McGrillen vs. Alexander Luster – PFL Europe Bantamweight Championship

Shanelle Dyer vs. Paulina Wiśniewska – PFL Europe Women’s Flyweight Championship

Top French MMA talent Abdoul ‘Lazy King’ Abdouraguimov returned to the PFL cage against Jack Grant in Paris.

As the co-main of the first PFL Europe event of 2024, Lazy King took on fellow grappling specialist Jack Grant, though he still enjoyed being seven-to-two favorite over the Brit. As ARES welterweight champion, Abdouraguimov reached a record of 15-1 overall before winning the middleweight belt in my personal ‘Comeback of the Year’ last year. Now 17-1 after winning his PFL debut last year, Abdoul looked to continue his seven-fight finish streak over Grant. A 19-7 veteran of Cage Warriors and BAMMA, Jack Grant had only won one decision in his entire career, so fighting Lazy King set up a fight which seemed to not hit the scorecards. However, their grappling somewhat canceled out as neither could estalish dominance in a grapple

They traded leg kicks to start. Instead of Abdouraguimov, it was Grant who shot for the first takedown. Abdoul grabbed for a guillotine, but Jack broke free after a few moments. Lazy King worked from the bottom while Grant stayed heavy on top. Eventually Grant opened up with punches and Abdoul’s nose bleed. Lazy King got back up and shot for two takedowns, getting the second. From top position he set up a d’Arce choke, but Jack wagged his finger as if to say no. Abdouraguimov switched to a Japanese necktie which looked highly uncomfortable, but again Grant wagged his finger. The round ended soon after, but not before Lazy King landed a few ground strikes.

The second round saw Abdoul land two hard left hooks before getting sprawled out on his first takedown attempt. Abdouraguimov pulled out and worked on his striking for a while. He landed his second takedown attempt but got stuck in a leg entanglement. As he escaped, Grant tried to stand up but got stuck in a front headlock. Lazy King jumped on an arm-in guillotine; although he did not finish it, he used it to get on top. Stilll Grant avoided being stuck on his back as he used butterfly hooks to get up. Jack kneed him from the clinch for a bit before Abdoul escaped and then rolled for a failed kneebar before the round ended.

Abdouraguimov went for an ill-advised rolling thunder kick to start the third round and Grant took his back. Abdoul was able to escape and get on top, though he fell off the top himself and go his back taken again. Most of that sequence played out again, but this time Lazy King got an anaconda choke. Grant’s face turned purple as Abdoul tightened it up, but he wagged his finger again and survived for over a minute. With a few seconds left, Lazy King just began punching, swinging ground and pound until the bell.

Most of the rounds were competitive, but the first seemed clear for Grant and the last for Abdouraguimov. When the scorecards were read, the first judge gave it 30-27 for Abdouraguimov, shockingly, while the second two both had it 29-28. The first of them had it for Grant, but the deciding judge had it for Lazy King, continuing his winning streak with the first decision of the bunch.

Official Result: Abdoul Abdouraguimov def. Jack Grant via Split-Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

After a stunning night in their French debut last year, the Professional Fighters League was now in the confines of the Accor Arena, with the Paris card a sold out affair. Two fighters the UFC had managed to let slip away in free agency.

Known as the “Lazy King,” Abdouraguimov was one of the hottest prospects on the market when he inked his deal with the PFL. He currently sits on a seven-fight win streak, most recently defeating Brad Wheeler via submission in Abdouraguimov’s PFL debut.

Prior to joining the Professional Fighters League, Abdouraguimov was a double-champ in ARES FC, holding gold at both welterweight and middleweight. While born in Russia, Abdoul Abdouraguimov lives in and fights out of France, training at the MMA Factory — meaning he’ll have the crowd behind him in Paris.

Grant has competed for Brave CF, Bellator MMA, and Cage Warriors, among other promotions. He’s won his last two bouts.

One other fight has been announced for this year’s PFL Paris card, as another French star, kickboxer Cedric Doumbe, returns to take on Baissangour Chamsoudinov in the evening’s main event. Both Doumbe and Chamsoudinov boast undefeated records currently, and like Abdouraguimov can be considered some of the hottest prospects in the company, not to mention mixed martial arts as a whole.

Two big free agent acquisitions signed by the PFL made their promotional debuts at Saturday’s PFL Paris card.

Kickboxing standout Cedric Doumbe, briefly signed by the UFC last year before the French athletic commission waved off his fight, had been expected to take part in the 2023 PFL season. But injury postponed his debut, and instead, he debuted in the main event of PFL Paris, the promotion’s French debut.

Also making his promotional debut, the highly touted Abdoul Abdouraguimov, a double-champ in ARES FC who had been coveted by all the major promotions.

Beyond those two names, the PFL Europe tournament continued on Saturday at PFL Paris, with semifinal action scheduled for the light heavyweight, women’s flyweight, bantamweight, and lightweight divisions. Of note, with Manuela Marconetto missing weight, Valentina Scatizzi was granted a walkover win, meaning there was just one flyweight semifinal on Saturday. That saw another top prospect in Dakota Ditcheva take on Cornelia Holm.

Full results from PFL Paris can be found below. The card gets underway at 11AM ET.
