The February 20 boxing bout between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul is being rescheduled to a later date.

Per MMA Island and Irish Mirror reporter Donagh Corby, the boxing exhibition bout between retired boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather and social media celebrity Logan Paul will be rescheduled.  The news comes from boxing coach Kelvin Moore.  The two were originally set to fight on February 20 in Las Vegas.  As of Friday, no official reason for the movement of the event has been given.

The two made waves late last year with the announcement that the boxer many consider the best of his generation would be entering the ring with a YouTube personality who has only ended the ring twice, against another social media star at that.  Notably, the fight was set to be streamed via the website Fanmio who offered a special discount on the pay-per-view ahead of the new year.  The price as recently as Friday was up to $59.99 and would max out at $79.99 on the night of the fight.

Floyd Mayweather Jr ended his career at 50-0 and is widely considered the best boxer of the last decade with victories over Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, and Conor McGregor.  He is also known for being the highest grossing athlete of the last decade, frequently topping Forbes list of the top paid athletes by a wide margin.  Most recently, the World Boxing Council (WBC) announced they would be honoring Mayweather by adding his picture to their world title belts.

Logan Paul is amongst the most followed social media personalities in the world with over 20 million subscribers on YouTube and millions of followers on Twitter and Instagram.  In 2018, Paul fought British YouTuber KSI (real name Olajide William Olatunji) to a draw in an exhibition boxing bout in London’s O2 arena that was broadcast via online pay-per-view.  They followed it up with a rematch in 2019, this time under a professional rule set, that was held in Los Angeles and broadcast on DAZN with champions Devin Haney and Billie Joe Saunders on the undercard.

Fanmio has not made an official announcement on the postponement of the event or given details about when the bout will now take place.  Observant fans have noticed that Mayweather recently removed the link to purchase the pay-per-view from the biography section of his social media accounts. A recent interview with super middleweight boxer J’Leon Love also revealed that he was awaiting a date for the Mayweather vs Paul event as he is to be part of the undercard.
