Valentina had no fights against a top 5 contender when she fought for the title at 125. Neither Holly nor GDR had any top 5 contender matches when they fought for the title at 145. In fact, most contenders that challenged Cyborg didn’t. It almost seems like it’s the exception rather than the rule but that’s only because there are so many exceptions. I’m all for Rose vs. Weili or Weili vs. JJ if either can fight in early 2021. Otherwise, let Yan challenge for the title. In fact, I’d be all for them to replace Amanda vs. Megan at UFC 256.
