Ultimate Fighter 1 cast member and WEC light heavyweight champ Lodune Sincaid has passed away at age 45.

Lodune Sincaid, a member of the original Ultimate Fighter cast and former WEC champion, has died. Sincaid’s official website confirmed the news, which was also reported by Sherdog. According to reports Sincaid was found dead on April 7, 2019. A cause of death has not been released.

Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Sincaid was a member of Team Couture on the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2005. At the time, the undefeated light heavyweight was 6-0 in his pro career. The U.S. NAVY veteran was eliminated early on the show, ending up knocked out by Bobby Southworth (who would go on to win the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight title) in the first elimination fight.

However, Sincaid would get a shot at competing in the UFC, facing Nate Quarry in the show’s finale. Having lost that fight, he’d work his way to WEC, claiming the promotion’s light heavyweight title in 2006. Though he would lose the belt to Doug ‘The Rhino’ Marshall the same year, he would continue competing until 2010, finishing his career with a 15-9 record.

Lodune Sincaid was also extremely open about his mental health struggles, which included PTSD from military service and genetic bipolar disorder. Sincaid’s official website posted the following statement regarding his passing:

“Lodune Sincaid was found dead April 7, 2019. Lodune was a true friend and will be missed by those close to him as well as those who crossed his path during his time on this earth. He held no grudges and left this life in peace.”

Our condolences to Sincaid’s friends, family and fans.
